أنتَ للأرضِ أوَّلاً و أخيرَاً كنتَ مَلكْا أوكنتَ عْبداً ذليلاً
لا خلودٌ تحت السماءِ لحيٍّ فلماذا تراودُالمستحيلا ؟
كلُّ نجم إلى الأفولِ ، و لكن آفةُ النّ‍َجمِ أنيخافَ الأُفُولا
غاية ُ الوردِ في الرياضَ ذبولٌ كن حكيما واسبقْ إليه الذُبولا
و إذا ماوجدت في الأرضِ ظلاً فتفيأ بِه إلى أَنْيَحُولا
و توقعْ إذا السماءُ اكفهّرت مَطَراً في السهولِيحيي السهولا
قل لقومٍ يستنزفون المآقي هل شفيُتم مع البكاءِغَليلا ؟
ما أتينا إلى الحياةِ لَنِشْقَى فأريحوا أهلَالعقولِ الُعقُولاَ ؟

كلُّ مَنْيجمع الهمومَ عليه أخذته الهموُم أخَْذاً وَبِيلا
