الشوكولاطة.. دواء للسعال
يشرف باحثـون بريطانيون على إعطاء قيمة إضافية للشوكولاطة، من خلال استخدامها في علاج حالة مرضية يشكو منها الجميع، وهي السعال، حيث ذكرت تقارير ذات الفريق الطبي أن مادة كيميائية في الكاكاو قد تتحول قريباً إلى دواء لعلاج السعال المستمر، مشيرين أنهم وصلوا إلى المراحل الأخيرة من التجارب المخبرية لدواء يحتوي على مادة الـ''تيوبرومين'' التي وجدت في الشوكولاتة والكاكاو. ويشار إلى أن 5,7 ملايين شخص يشكون في بريطانيا سنوياً من السعال المستمر، أي السعال الذي يلازم صاحبه أكثـر من أسبوعين. ويذكر أن كل الأدوية الموجودة حالياً لعلاج السعال تعتمد على الأفيون، مثـل الشراب الذي يحتوي على مادة الكوديين، في الوقت الذي صدرت مؤخرا تحذيرات من تناول من تقل أعمارهم عن 18 سنة هذا النوع من الأدوية، لأن مخاطرها تفوق فوائدها. ليؤكد الباحثـون البريطانيون أن العلاج الجديد المعتمد على الـ''تيوبرومين'' لن يواجه هذه المشكلة كونه من دون طعم، ويمكن للجميع أخذه، حتى الذين لا يحبون الشوكولاطة. ويعتقد أن الـ''تيوبرومين'' يعمل على منع تحرك العصب الرئوي المعدي الذي يعتبر العامل الرئيسي للسعال المستمر.
