إسرائيل تحضر لحرب شاملة في قطاع غزة

كشف موقع وكيليكس، حسب برقية الخارجية الأمريكية، أن إسرائيل تحضر للقيام بـ''حرب شاملة'' في الشرق الأوسط، ضد حماس وحزب الله. وكان غابي أشكينازي، رئيس الأركان الإسرائيلي المنتهية عهدته، قد صرح لوفد برلماني أمريكي كان يقوده الديموقراطي أيك سكيلتون، في 15 نوفمبر 2009، قائلا ''أنا أحضر الجيش الإسرائيلي لحرب واسعة لأنه من السهل تحجيم الحرب في عملية صغيرة من العكس''.
وأضاف ''إن التهديد بالقذائف الصاروخية ضد إسرائيل أصبح يشكل خطورة أكثـر من أي وقت مضي. لذلك تعطي إسرائيل أهمية كبرى للدروع المضادة للصواريخ''. وقال أيضا إن إيران تمتلك 300 صاروخ من طراز ''شهاب'' قد تصيب إسرائيل التي يتطلب منها عشرة أو اثني عشرة دقيقة للرد. واعتبر أن الخطر يأتي من حماس وحزب الله، وأن ''حماس سوف تتمكن من قصف تل أبيب، أين توجد أهم كثافة سكانية بإسرائيل''. وخلص إلى القول بأن إسرائيل ''لن تتقيد بضوابط العمليات العسكرية في المناطق السكانية''؛ بمعنى أن حرب غزة التي فرضت على المدنيين لم تكن كذلك. أو أن الحرب القادمة ستشمل المدن. وكان القيادي في حزب الله، سمير القنطار، قد صرح منذ أسابيع بأن الحرب القادمة ستكون في عمق المدن الإسرائيلية. لأن الحرب عن بعد، التي تفضلها إسرائيل باستعمال الطيران، لن تعد ممكنة.
