الربو وعث الغبار المنزلي

يشكل عث الغبار المنزلي أكثر المحرضات شيوعاً للربو وأصعبها إزالة بشكل كامل.
كيف يمكن التغلب على هذه الآفة والتقليل من أثرها؟
عث الغبار حشرة دقيقة لا ترى بالعين المجردة، وهي حشرة تسبب ضيق التنفس عندما تدخل إلى المجاري التنفسية. يتغذى العث على قشور الجلد الميت الصغيرة والتي يطرحها كل انسان بشكل مستمر. ومع أن هذه القشيرات لا ترى بالعين المجردة إلا أنها غزيرة جداً.
والنظافة المنتظمة تعني وجود غذاء أقل للعث ولكن هناك خطوات أخرى يمكن القيام بها لتخفيف أثر العث. إن العث يوجد في الغبار إلى درجة يمكن القول معها إنه من الاستحالة بمكان إزالت العث من الغبار المنزلي. الخطوة الأولى لتخفيف الغبار والعث على حد سواء هي بكل بساطة إحداث بعض التيارات الهوائية. فعث الغبار لا ينمو جيداً في البيوت الجيدة التهوية. يتجه الناس هذه الأيام إلى منع التيارات الهوائية في البيوت باستخدام الزجاج المضاعف والمداخن المحكمة الاغلاق والسجاد الثابت أو الموكيت. إضافة إلى ذلك فإن المكيفات الداخلية تساعد على تراكم الغبار في أمكنة ضيقة تصبح مرتعاً للعث المنزلي. وببعض الإجراءات البسيطة يمكن زيادة حركة الهواء في البيت دون أن زيادة استهلاك الوقود. فعندما يبلى السجاد مثلاً يمكن أن توضع مكانه بدلاً عنه إما أرضية من – البلاط- او الفلين أو الخشب يسهل تنظيفها مع بسط قطنية يمكن غسلها. ويعتبر فتح النوافذ كل يوم ليتجدد الهواء المنعش أمراً أساسياً لكل بيت وبخاصة في البيت الذي يأوي مريضاً بالربو. كذلك يُنصح بمسح الأرض ومسح الغبار عن المفروشات بقطعة قماش رطبة بدلاً من نفاضة الغبار، وهي الطريقة الأمثل للتخلص من الغبار والعث في المنزل. ويجب العناية بشكل أكبر بالمناطق حول التدفئة المركزية والأنابيب والزوايا فهي الأمكنة التي يتركز فيها الغبار والعث.
هل يمكن أن يتسبب أثاث المنزل في نوبات الربو عند الطفل؟
أثبتت الدراسات أن السجاد الصوفي يطلق عث الغبار المنزلي في الجو أكثر بكثير من السجاد المصنوع من الخيوط التركيبية. والمفروشات الناعمة مثل الستائر والكراسي والكنبات تشكل مرتعاً لعث الغبار. وحتى المكنسة الكهربائية تبقي الكثير من العث المنزلي في جول المنزل، ولهذا يجب اللجوء إلى ممسحة وسطل لمسح الغبار عن الأرض. كذلك يجب غسل شراشف وأغطية سرير الطفل بشكل متكرر وتعريضها للهواء الخارجي كلما كان ذلك ممكناً. فالأطفال يقضون وقتاً أكبر في السرير من الكبار. وقد كان يُعتقد في الماضي أن وسائد الريش واللحف هي مصدر العديد من ردات الفعل الربوية. لكن الخبراء يعتقدون الآن أن الغبار وعث الغبار الذي يتجمع حول الريش هو في الغالب السبب الحقيقي وليس الريش. وما لم يكن لدى الطفل حساسية من الريش، فإن مخدة ريش جديدة بغطاء محكم أفضل بكثير وأقل مشاكل من مخدة قديمة من مواد تركيبية ولا تُغسل بشكل متكرر. إن أغطية اللحف وكذلك أغطية الوسائد تحمي اللحف والمخدات من العث وتسمح بدخول الهواء فيها. ومهما يكن نوع أغطية وشراشف الأسرّة التي تستخدم للطفل، فلا بد من تعريضها للهواء الخارجي قدر الإمكان.
