Sur la terre nous voyons des montagnes, des plaines, des mers et des fleuves. le sommet de la montagne est couvert de neige durant l'hiver. Sur ses pentes, il y en a d'autres dont on prend le bois pour faire les maisons et les meubles. Les sources sortent des montagnes et quand leurs eaux sont abondantes et se rencontrent, elles forment un fleuve. Dans les plaines s'étendent les champs et les cultures où pousse le blé qui, moulu et pétri, devient du pain. On y trouve l'orge pour la nourriture des animaux, les autres céréales, les légumes et les fruits que nous mangeons. Dans les montagnes et les plaines il y a beaucoup d'animaux, certains sont sauvages et d'autres domestiques, comme les chevaux, les poules, les vaches, et les moutons. Dans l'air il y a les oiseaux qui nous réjouissent de leur gazouillement et dont les plumes et la chair nous sont utiles. Dans l'eau, il y a les poissons, certains minuscules et d'autres énormes. Tous nous sont utiles.
الترجمة العربية للنص :
على الأرض نرى جبالا و سهولا و بحارا و أنهارا . رأس الجبل مغطّى بالثلج وقت الشتاء . على منحدره الأشجارُ المتنوّعة منها ما يحمل أثمارا شهيّة و منها ما يؤخذ منه الأخشاب لعمل البيوت و الأثاث . من الجبال تخرج عيون الماء و هي إذا تجمّعت و كانت غزيرة تصير نهرا. في السّهول تنبسط الحقول و المزارع فيها ينبت القمح الذي يُطحن و يُعجن فيصير خبزا. فيها الشعير لقوت الحيوانات و باقي الحبوب و الخضر و الفواكه التي نأكلها. و في الجبال و السهول حيوانات كثيرة منها بريّة و منها داجنة كالفرس و الدّجاج و البقر و الغنم . و في الجو الطيورُ تفرحنا بتغريدها و تنفعنا بريشها و لحمها. و في الماء السمك منه صغير جدّا و منه كبير جدّا و كلاهما ينفعنا.
