اختلف الجميع على احتواء مشروبي البيبسي والكولا على مادة البيبسين



ونود الإشارة هنا


أن البيبسين ليس مادة


وإنما إنزيم تفرزه معدة الإنسان والحيوانات


هو إنزيم هاضم فحسب


وقد اختلف أصل تسمية مشروب البيبسي لعدة أسباب


فقد قيل أن مخترع هذا المشروب هو صيدلاني يدعى ( كالب براد هام ) في عام 1898م


وقد قيل أن مسمى بيبسي كولا جاء به مخترع المشروب كالب تحت الاسم الأصلي لمشروب محلي منافس يسمى ( بيب كولا ) pep cola وقد غيره إلى pepsi cola


وكلمة بيبسي كولا هي عبارة عن جناس مصحح لكلمة Episcopal


وتعني الأسقفية أو الأسقفي ( الأساقفة )


والأسقفية هي كنيسة كبيرة جداً تقع بجوار صيدلية مخترع البيبسي كالب



وحالياً توجد لوحة معدنية منقوشة في موقع الصيدلية الأصلي توثق ثورة البيبسي كولا



كانت تلك هي النظرية الأولى لتسمية البيبسي كولا


النظرية الثانية.. هي أن الصيدلاني كالب وزبائنه لهذا المشروب شعروا بأن هذا المشروب يعطيهم نوع من الحيوية والنشاط.. وهو ما يدعى بالأنكليزية pep

ولذلك أطلق على المشروب اسم pepsi



وهناك نظرية أخرى تقول بأن كالب مخترع هذا المشروب قد أسماه بيبسي لأن هذا المشروب أظهر بأنه يقضي على بعض أوجاع البطن ويخفف بعض الآلام.. وبسبب تأثير المياه الغازية.. ظنوا بأن الصيدلاني كالب قد اشتق الاسم من إنزيم الهضم البيبسين.. وهو العمل الذي يقوم به مشروب البيبسي كمهضم بعد الطعام!

ولكنه لا يحتوي على هذا الأنزيم
