لا يدخل الجنّة مَن في قلبه مثـقال ذَرَّة مِن كِبْر
روي عن عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم: ''لا يدخل الجنّة مَن في قلبه مثـقال ذَرَّة مِن كِبْر. قال رجل: إنّ الرجل ليُحبّ أن يكون ثـوبه حسنًا ونعله حسنة. قال: إنّ الله جميل يُحبّ الجمال، الكبر بطر الحق وغمط النّاس''، رواه مسلم.
الكِبْرُ هو خُلُق باطن تظهر آثاره على الجوارح، يوجِب رؤية النّفس والاستعلاء على الغير، وهو بذلك يفارق العجب في أنّ العجب يتعلّق بنفس المُعجب ولا يتعلّق بغيره، وأمّا الكبر فمحله الآخرون؛ بأن يرى الإنسان نفسه بعين الاستعظام، فيدعوه ذلك إلى احتقار الآخرين، وازدرائهم والتّعالي عليهم.
والكبر مُناف للإيمان لا يدخل صاحبه الجنّة كما قال الله سبحانه وتعالى: {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ} غافر: 60، ومن هذا كبر إبليس وكبر فرعون وغيرهما ممّن كان كبره منافيًا للإيمان وكذلك كبر اليهود والّذين أخبر الله عنهم بقوله تعالى: {أَفَكُلَّمَا جَاءكُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لاَ تَهْوَى أَنفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ} البقرة: 87
فمَن كان في قلبه مِثقال ذَرَّة مِن كِبْر لا يفعل ما أوجب الله عليه ويترك ما حرَّم عليه، بل كبره يوجب له جحد الحق واحتقار الخلق، وهذا هو الكبر المراد في هذا الحديث.
وقوله ''لا يدخُل الجنّة'' متضمّن لكونه ليس من أهلها ولا مستحقًا، لها لكن إن تاب أو كانت له حسنات ماحية لذنبه أو ابتلاه الله بمصائب كفَّر بها خطاياه ونحو ذلك زال ثمرة هذا الكبر المانع له من الجنّة؛ فيدخلها أو غفر الله له بفضل رحمته من ذلك الكِبر من نفسه؛ فلا يدخلها ومعه شيء من الكبر.
وقوله: ''قال رجل: إنّ الرجل ليُحبّ أن يكون ثوبه حسنًا ونعله حسنة، قال: إنّ الله جميل يُحبّ الجمال، الكبر بطر الحق وغمط النّاس'' أي أنّ بطر الحق جحده ودفعه وغمط النّاس ازدراؤهم واحتقارهم، فمَن في قلبه مثقال ذرّة من هذا يوجب له أن يجْحَد الحق الّذي يجب عليه أن يُقرّ به وأن يحتقر النّاس فيكون ظالمًا لهم معتديًا عليهم، فمَن كان مُضيِّعًا للحق الواجب؛ ظالمًا للخلق، لم يكن من أهل الجنّة ولا مُستحِقًا لها؛ بل يكون من أهل الوعيد.
وقوله ''الكِبر بطر الحق'' وبطر الحق رَدُّ، بأن يجعل الحق باطلاً والباطل حقًا، وصفة ''الكِبر'' تأبى على صاحبها أن يقبَل الحق إلاّ ما وافق هواه، وفي هذا الحديث تحريم لهذه الخصلة الخبيثة، وقبح مَن اتّصف بها، أمّا قوله ''غمط النّاس'' فهي التّجبُّر على الخلق، وجحد حقوقهم، والمماطلة، واستحقارهم وازدرائهم.
وقد اغتر صاحب الجَنَّتَين بما آتاه الله من مال وولد وبساتين، كما حكى الله تعالى عنه: {وَكَانَ لَهُ ثَمَرٌ فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُ أَنَا أَكْثَرُ مِنكَ مَالاً وَأَعَزُّ نَفَرًا} الكهف: 34 فلا يصح للإنسان أن يغتر بما آتاهُ الله، بل يشْكُر الله، ويستعمل نِعَمَ الله في طاعته ومرضاته.
