تقدم قبل فترات قليلة الرئيس المصري حسني مبارك يوم الجمعة انه طلب من الحكومة التقدم باستقالتها في كلمة للشعب عبر التلفزيون بعد يوم من الاحتجاجات العنيفة غير المسبوقة خلال حكمه الممتد منذ 30 عاما.

واضاف انه سيكلف حكومة جديدة بالتعامل مع اولويات المرحلة القادمة. واكد عزمه المضي قدما على طريق الاصلاح السياسي والاقتصادي. وقال ان الاحتجاجات "وما حدث من نهب وفوضى" في مصر منذ الثلاثاء الماضي هي جزء من مخطط لهز استقرار البلاد.
