Plusieurs dizaines de manifestants ont attaqué dimanche soir la brigade de gendarmerie de la ville de Chorfa, commune située à 40km à l’est de Bouira, a appris DNA auprès des habitants de la ville. De violents affrontements ont éclaté entre manifestants et gendarmes. La population locale dénonce une « descente punitive ».
Les manifestants voulaient visiblement « chasser » les gendarmes. Ces derniers ont répliqué brutalement, selon des témoignages recueillis auprès de citoyens de cette localité. Plusieurs arrestations ont été opérées parmi les manifestants alors que nombreux blessés sont également à déplorer.
Des habitants de la ville racontent que les gendarmes qui proféraient des grossièretés ont « cueilli » des jeunes à l’intérieur de leurs domiciles. Après l’intervention des gendarmes, la population locale reste sous choc.
Interpellé dimanche soir, Hocine Gaci, âgé de 21 ans, a passé un mauvais quart dans la brigade de gendarmerie où il a subi des mauvais traitements. Joint par téléphone, il raconte : « Il y avait une confrontation entre les jeunes de la ville et les éléments de la gendarmerie. J’ai décidé de ne pas y participer. Aux environs de 22H30, le chef de la brigade, accompagné de l’un de ses subalternes, s’est présenté devant notre domicile. Je m’apprêtais à ouvrir la porte. Sous les coups des gendarmes, la porte a cédé. Le chef m’intimait l’ordre de le suivre. Lorsque j’ai demandé les raisons, il m’a traîné brutalement, pieds nus, à l’extérieur de la maison. En tentant de s’interposer, ma mère a été bousculée et insultée.»
Une fois à l’intérieur de la brigade, Hocine Gaci subira un véritable passage tabac. « J’ai reçu un coup de crosse sur la tête, des coups de pieds s’abattaient sur mon dos. J’avais le corps endolori. Quelques temps après, j’ai demandé aux gendarmes de me laisser partir à l’hôpital pour soigner mes blessures. Ils ont refusé, préférant me prodiguer quelques soins dans l’enceinte de la brigade», ajoute-t-il.
Des affrontements ont opposé jeunes de la ville et gendarmes après l’arrestation de Hocine en compagnie de deux autres personnes.
Sous la pression de la population locale, Hocine a été relâché vers 3H du matin Son Tee-shirt était encore tâché de sang, confie-t-il. « Si ne n’était pas la pression des citoyens, ils ne m’auraient pas relâché de si tôt », indique-t-il. La famille de la victime compte déposer plainte.
Si l’une des personnes arrêtées a été relâchée saine et sauve, l’ami de Hocine n’a pas eu la même chance. Interpellé chez ses parent et gravement blessé après son passage à tabac par les gendarmes au niveau de la brigade, celui-ci a été transféré dans la nuit de dimanche à l’hôpital de Tizi Ouzou pour subir une opération chirurgicale, nous confie son ami.
Lundi matin, la tension est toujours vive dan la ville. Des renforts des polices anti-émeute ont été dépêchés sur les lieux. Les affrontements ont repris en début d'après-midi et les manifestants sont décidés à en découdre avec les forces antiémeutes.
« Les manifestants ne décolèrent pas. Après tout ce qui s'est passé hier soir, ils ne veulent plus de gendarmes dans leur localité » nous confie Salah, originaire de la région.
Samedi 12 février, de jeunes manifestants de Chorfa ont attaqué la brigade de gendarmerie à coup des pierres et autres cocktails Molotov. Ce qui a poussé les gendarmes à entreprendre une expédition punitive.
