Un site aurait mis la main sur la recette originale de la boisson la plus vendue dans le monde.

Le site anglo-saxon Thisamericanlife.org prétend avoir mis la main sur la recette originale du Coca-Cola. Il lui aurait suffit de retrouver un article paru en 1979 dans les colonnes d'un journal local d'Atlanta, en Géorgie. Une réplique du manuscrit de la recette originale écrite par John Pemberton, créateur de la boisson, y apparaîtrait avec le dosage précis de chaque ingrédient.
Pour appuyer ses dires, le site a fait appel à Mark Pendergrast, historien qui s'est longtemps consacré à la boisson gazeuse. Face à la découverte, ce dernier a déclaré : "Je pense que c'est très certainement une version de la formule du Coca-Cola." Voici ce qui serait la recette du soda le plus vendu au monde :
Extrait fluide de coca (à hauteur de "3 drams USP")
Acide citrique 85ml
Caféine 28ml
Sucre 30 (unité de mesure illisible sur le document)
Eau 10 litres
Jus de citron 946ml
Vanille 28ml
Caramel 42,5ml ou davantage, pour la couleur.
"Arôme 7X", à base d'huiles essentielles (utiliser 56,6 ml de cet arôme pour 18,9 litres de sirop):
Alcool 227ml
Huile essentielle d'orange 20 gouttes
Huile essentielle de citron 30 gouttes
Huile essentielle de muscade 10 gouttes
Coriandre 5 gouttes
Neroli 10 gouttes
Cannelle 10 gouttes
Le fameux arôme 7X serait resté un mystère très longtemps. C'est lui qui aurait fait le goût si particuliers du soda. Aujourd'hui, seulement deux personnes ont accès à la recette utilisée et sont capables de la décrire. Le document serait dans le sous-sol d'une banque et gardé 24h/24h. Pour ne prendre aucun risque, les deux personnes ne se déplaceraient jamais ensemble, afin d'éviter de perdre la recette. Elle se transmet dans le plus grand secret et selon un rituel bien précis.
