مصر تفرج عن شقيق الظواهري
أفرجت السلطات العسكرية المصرية عن عدد من المعتقلين بتهم تتعلق بانتمائهم للجماعات الإسلامية، ومن بينهم محمد الظواهري، شقيق أيمن الظواهري الرجل الثاني في تنظيم القاعدة.

وقال مصدر أمني الخميس إن الإفراج عن الظواهري جاء بقرار من المجلس العسكري الذي يدير أمور البلاد منذ سقوط الرئيس السابق حسني مبارك والذي أمر بإطلاق 59 معتقلا.
وأشار المصدر إلى أن القضاء المصري أسقط حكما غيابيا بالإعدام على محمد الظواهري، بعد اتهامه بإقامة معسكر تدريب في ألبانيا والتخطيط لشن هجمات عسكرية داخل مصر.
وأكد عم محمد الظواهري ومحاميه محفوظ عزام نبأ الإفراج عنه، حسبما أفادت به وكالة أسوشيتد برس.
وكانت الإمارات سلمت محمد الظواهري -الذي كان عضوا بارزا في تنظيم الجهاد الذي يقوده أيمن الظواهري- في عام 1999، بعد عام من الحكم عليه غيابيا بالسجن المؤبد بتهم تتعلق بالإرهاب.
وكانت السلطات المصرية أطلقت سراح العديد من الإسلاميين، ومن بينهم عبود الزمر المدان بالمشاركة في عملية اغتيال الرئيس الأسبق أنور السادات عام 1981.
غير أن السلطات لا تزال تحتجز كلا من مصطفى حمزة ورفاعة طه أبرز قادة الجماعة الإسلامية، واللذين قضت محاكم عسكرية بالحكم عليهم بالإعدام ولكن لم يتم تنفيذ الأحكام.
و مصطفى حمزة هو مهندس محاولة اغتيال مبارك في أديس بابا في عام 1995 وقد سلمته إيران في ما بعد، في حين أن سوريا سلمت رفاعة طه بعد انتقاله إليها من إيران.
