دشنت "مايكروسوفت" و"تويوتا" شراكة استراتيجية وخطة لبناء منصة عالمية لخدمات "تليماتيكس"، أي دمج الاتصالات السلكية واللاسلكية وتكنولوجيا المعلومات داخل السيارات. وذلك للجيل القادم من سيارات الهجين.

وسيتم طرح هذا الجيل بداية العام المقبل 2012، وذلك حسب "أكيو تويودا" الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة تويوتا.

واستنادا على منصة مايكروسوفت "أزورو السحابية" ستصبح سيارات تويوتا بمثابة مركز اتصالات ذكي يربط بين السيارة والمنزل.في جانب أنظمة تحديد المواقع والخدمات الإرشادية الخاصة بالطريق وإدراة الطاقة، أصبح بإمكان السائق التحكم في جميع أجهزة المنزل وتوجيها وهو داخل السيارة وتشمل أجهزة التكييف، والتدفئة والإضاءة.

من جانبه أوضح "ستيف بالمر" الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة مايكروسوفت أنها ليست صفقة ترفيه، بل إنها وسيلة لتوفير تقنيات المعلومات في السيارات في جميع أنحاء العالم، بحيث تلغي جميع الأجهزة التي تثبت على لوحة القيادة، أو تلك المدمجة داخل السيارة. كما تأتي في إطار تحقيق مجتمع منخفض الكربون من خلال الاستخدام الفعال للطاقة التي تهدف إليها أنشطة الشبكة الذكية والحوسبة السحابية.

وبشراكة مايكروسوفت مع أكبر شركة مصنعة للسيارات في العالم سوف تعزز مكانتها في السوق وسحب البساط من "جوجل" المنافسة الأولى لها في العالم، التي استطاعت منذ وقت ليس بقصير دمج خدمات الإنترنت من خرائط "جوجل" ومتابعة البريد الإلكتروني داخل السيارة.

وداخل سيارة "تويوتا" الجديدة ستدمج مايكروسوفت محرك البحث لديها "Bing" وكذلك "Windows Live"، ومتابعة الرسائل الإلكترونية وتصفح الإنترنت، وغيرها من خدماتها العديدة. وحسب "أكيو تويودا" سيتم تدشين هذه الخدمات على أن تكون تكلفتها جزءا من مبلغ السيارة الأساسي.
