نشرت صحيفة "ذي تايمز"، خبرًا أشارت فيه إلى أن والد سفاح ليبيا طيار فرنسي، أسقطت طائرته فوق الأراضي الليبية خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية ، وهي رواية ثالثة بعد تلك التي تتحدث عن أن والدة السفاح يهودية، وأباه جندي ايطالي .
وفي التفاصيل، أن الطيار الفرنسي ألبرت كريسيوزي من كورسيكا، الذي سُميت قاعدة جوية فرنسية في الجزيرة باسمه، أسقطت طائرته فوق منطقة قبلية ليبية عام 1940، حيث التقطه زعيم القبيلة وعالجه وآواه في منزله.
ووفق الرواية، أقام علاقة مع ابنة زعيم القبيلة وأنجب منها ولدًا، وفق ما قال كريسيوزي لقائد سربه، بعدما عاد إلى فرنسا إثر انتهاء الحرب العالمية الثانية. ونشرت الصحيفة صورتين للسفاح والطيار الفرنسي، تظهران الرجلين بتعابير وملامح متشابهة جدا.
وكانت فرنسا حاولت الحصول من الأطباء الايطاليين الذين عالجوا السفاح مرارًا، على بعض الحمض النووي الخاص به، لمقارنتها بالحمض النووي لأحفاد الطيار ومعرفة الحقيقة .
