توفي اليوم الدكتور الكاتب والباحث عبدالله ركيبي عن عمر يناهز 83 سنة بعد صراع مرير مع المرض ،وشاءت الأقدار أن يتوفى لحظات قبل تكريمه من قِبَلِ جمعية الكلمة للثقافة والإعلام .
وكان الدكتور ركيبي من الرعيل الطلائعي الذي وضع اللبنات الأولى لعدد من الإنجازات الثقافية والفكرية في الجزائر عاش محنة الوطن وهو يرزح تحت ربقة استعمار استيطاني شرس مسخ فكر الأمة ولغتها وقطع أوصال امتدادها العربي الإسلامي
وضع الدكتور عبد الله الركيبي اللبنات الأولى للدراسات الأدبية والنقدية في الجزائر، وهو من النواة الأولى التي أسست اتحاد الكتاب الجزائريين كأول أمين عام مساعد لرئيسه الروائي الراحل مالك حداد عندما تم تأسيسه العام 1974.كان أول المثقفين الذين اعتقلتهم السلطات الاستعمارية بعد عام من اندلاع الثورة التحريرية (1954) بعد عودته من تونس، وأول الذين أرغمتهم على الإقامة الجبرية بولاية بسكرة (جنوب البلاد) قبل أن ينجح في الفرار من السجن الاستعماري باتجاه جبال الأوراس الأشم، فيعاد إرساله إلى تونس ومنها إلى القاهرة. كان أول المثقفين الذين تولوا لجنة الفكر والثقافة في أول وأقدم وأكبر حزب سياسي في البلاد منذ الاستقلال، حزب جبهة التحرير الوطني، وأول برلماني جزائري ينجز دراسة غير مسبوقة بعنوان "حاجتنا إلى ثقافة سياسية وهل لمجلس الأمة دور فيها". وكان أول من تناول ظاهرة الفرنكفونية بمنهج واضح وتحليل موضوعي في مصنفّه القيم "الفرنكفونية مشرقاً ومغرباً" الذي أثار ضده خصوم الحرف العربي في الجزائر ودوائرهم النافذة
واكد رئيس جمعية الكلمة عبد العالي مزغيش أنه كان من المنتظر أن يتم تكريم الدكتور ركيبي من طرف الجمعية اليوم في حفل بالمدرسة العليا للأساتذة وأضاف مزغيش قائلا :"كان من المنتظر أن يتم تكريم الدكتور ركيبي بحضور إبنه ممثلا له نظرا لتدهور صحته لكن وبعد أن حضرنا كل شيء وحضر كل أصدقائه سمعنا بنبأ وفاته رحمه الله وقد توجهنا إلى بيت الفقيد لتعزية أهله".
