من أين جاءت ... جهنّم ؟

السلام عليكم

جهنم : الجهنام : القعر البعيد . وبئر جهنم وجهنام - بكسر الجيم والهاء - : بعيدة القعر ، وبه سميت جهنم لبعد قعرها ، ولم يقولوا جهنام فيها ; وقال اللحياني : جهنام اسم أعجمي ، وجهنام اسم رجل ، وجهنام لقب عمرو بن قطن من بني سعد بن قيس بن ثعلبة ، وكان يهاجي الأعشى ، ويقال هو اسم تابعته ; وقال فيه الأعشى :



دعوت خليلي مسحلا ودعوا له جهنام جدعا للهجين المذمم
وتركه إجراء جهنام يدل على أنه أعجمي ، وقيل : هو أخو هريرة التي يتغزل بها في شعره : ودع هريرة . الجوهري : جهنم من أسماء النار التي يعذب الله بها عباده ، نعوذ بالله منها ; هذه عبارة الجوهري ، ولو قال : يعذب بها من استحق العذاب من عبيده كان أجود ، قال : وهو ملحق بالخماسي ، بتشديد الحرف الثالث منه ، ولا يجرى للمعرفة ، والتأنيث ، ويقال : هو فارسي معرب . الأزهري : في جهنم قولان : قال يونس بن حبيب وأكثر النحويين : جهنم اسم النار التي يعذب الله بها في الآخرة ، وهي أعجمية لا تجرى للتعريف والعجمة ، وقال آخرون : جهنم عربي سميت نار الآخرة بها لبعد قعرها ، وإنما لم تجر لثقل التعريف وثقل التأنيث ، وقيل : هو تعريب " كهنام " بالعبرانية ; قال ابن بري : من جعل جهنم عربيا احتج بقولهم : بئر جهنام ، ويكون امتناع صرفها للتأنيث والتعريف ، ومن جعل جهنم اسما أعجميا احتج بقول الأعشى :



ودعوا له جهنام


فلم يصرف ، فتكون جهنم على هذا لا تنصرف للتعريف والعجمة والتأنيث أيضا ، ومن جعل جهنام اسما لتابعة الشاعر المقاوم للأعشى لم تكن فيه حجة ; لأنه يكون امتناع صرفه للتأنيث والتعريف لا للعجمة . وحكى أبو علي عن يونس : أن جهنم اسم عجمي ; قال أبو علي : ويقويه امتناع صرف " جهنام " في بيت الأعشى . وقال ابن خالويه : بئر جهنام للبعيدة القعر ، ومنه سميت جهنم ، قال : فهذا يدل أنها عربية ، وقال ابن خالويه أيضا : جهنام - بالضم - للشاعر الذي يهاجي الأعشى ، واسم البئر جهنام - بالكسر .

حياك اللّه أخي الكريم ... بعدما تبيّن لنا هذا ... فما هو السر الذي قد يحمله توظيف هذه اللفظة (جهنّم) للتعبير عن العذاب مع العلم أن هناك فرق بين (جهنّم) و نار (جهنّم) .
