طائرات أميركية بدون طيار بليبيا



قررت الولايات المتحدة إرسال طائرات بدون طيار إلى ليبيا للمساهمة في عمليات القصف الجوي التي تنفذها قوات تحالف دولي ضد كتائب العقيد معمر القذافي .

وذكر الجنرال جيمس كارترايت نائب رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة في الجيش الأميركي أن طائرتين بدون طيار ستعملان على مدار الساعة في الأجواء الليبية، وأنه تم إرسالهما أول أمس ولكن تم استدعاؤهما بسبب سوء أحوال الطقس.

وأضاف كارترايت في حديث للصحفيين أن هذه الطائرات -وهي من نوع بريداتور- ستتيح توجيه ضربات دقيقة، وذلك لقدرتها على التحليق على مستوى منخفض، ومن ثم على الرؤية بصورة أكثر وضوحا.

ومن جهته قال وزير الدفاع الأميركي روبرت غيتس إن إرسال طائرات بدون طيار لا يمثل زيادة كبيرة لدور بلاده في المهمة التي يقودها حلف شمال الأطلسي في ليبيا، بموجب قرار من مجلس الأمن الدولي ينص على حماية المدنيين هناك.

وأضاف أن إرسال هذه الطائرات مجرد "مساهمة متواضعة" من بلاده في جهود هذا التحالف الدولي، مشيرا إلى أنه تم اتخاذ القرار "نظرا للوضع الإنساني" في ليبيا، وبموافقة من الرئيس باراك أوباما.
