امتناع الحامل عن تناول السكريات يحافظ على صحة طفلها

أكدت دراسة بريطانية أن النظام الغذائي للمرأة الحامل يمكن أن يحدث تغييرات في الحمض النووي لجنينها، الأمر الذي يزيد من مخاطر إصابته بالسمنة في سنوات لاحقة.

وذكرت هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية أن الدراسة التي أعدها فريق دولي أظهرت أن تناول الحامل كميات منخفضة جدا من السكريات الكاربوهيدرات غيرت بعض الشيء في تركيبة الحمض النووي للجنين، الأمر الذي بيّن لاحقاً أن الأطفال صاروا أسمن.

وقالت البروفسور كيث غودفري من جامعة ساوثامبتون البريطانية، التي أشرفت على الدراسة، إن عينات أخذت من الحبل السري أظهرت أن الأمهات اللواتي كان نظامهن الغذائي منخفض الكاربوهيدرات مثل السكر والنشاء، أنجبن أطفالا أقل تعرضا للإصابة بالسمنة بين سن السادسة والتاسعة.

وأوضحت أن تأثير النظام الغذائي للحامل هو أكبر من تأثير وزن الطفل عند الولادة، وأن المعيار لا يعتمد فقط على مسألة ما إن كانت الأم نحيفة أو سمينة خلال فترة الحمل. ونصحت غودفري النساء الحوامل إلى ترشيد نظامهن الغذائي بعيدا عن تناول سكريات الكاربوهيدرات حفاظا على صحة أطفالهن لاحقا.
