أرجأت مصادر إعلامية لـ(سبق) أن أسباب اغتيال بنظير بوتو قد يكون نتيجة تصريح أدلت بها لإحدى شبكات التلفزة عن حياة بن لادن ، حيث أوضحت من خلال التصريح أن بن لادن قتل ولم يعد حياً وقام بتنفيذ العملية شخص يدعى عمر الشيخ ومنظمة القاعدة تحاول جاهدة التكتم على مقتله وأوضحت من خلال التصريح أن بن لادن تم تصفيته على يد شخص يدعى عمر الشيخ وما يجري في الساحة من تصريحات وأنباء ما هو إلا تجسيد لصوت أسامة مؤكدةً أنها لا تخاف أبداً من تهديدات القاعدة معتبرةً أنها في الطريق للنهاية .

وأثار مقتل رئيسة الوزارء السابقة بنظير بوتوا انشغال الإعلام العالمي بها خصوصاً وأن الكثير من التصريحات التي وردت من الجهات الحكومية في باكستان تؤكد أن سبب وفاتها هو ارتطام رأسها في بوابة السيارة فيما أكدت أختها موتها برصاص الانتحاري .
