الإمارات تستعين ببلاك ووتر

كشفت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز أن ولي عهد أبو ظبي الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان كلف مؤسس شركة بلاك ووترالأمنية الأميركية إيريك برنس بتشكيل قوة سرية من المرتزقة مؤلفة من 800 عنصر أجنبي لمساعدة الإمارات على التصدي لأي تهديد داخلي أو خارجي.

ونقلت الصحيفة عن مسؤولين أميركيين لم يكشفوا هويتهم أن برنس الذي انتقل للإقامة في الإمارات العام الماضي بعد سلسلة مشاكل قانونية تعرضت لها شركته في الولايات المتحدة، تلقى 529 مليون دولار لإنجاز مهمته.

وبحسب الصحيفة فإن هدف تشكيل هذه القوة هو القيام بمهام عملياتية خاصة داخل الإمارات وخارجها وحماية أنابيب النفط وناطحات السحاب من أي هجمات إرهابية وإخماد أي ثورة داخلية.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن الإمارات يمكن أن تستعين بهذه القوة لمواجهة أي اضطرابات داخل المخيمات المزدحمة للعمال في الحقول النفطية أو مظاهرات مطالبة بالديمقراطية على غرار تلك التي اجتاحت العالم العربي هذا العام. كما يأمل حكام الإمارات أن تتمكن هذه القوة من التصدي لأي عدوان إقليمي تشنه إيران.

وقالت الصحيفة إن معسكر تدريب عناصر هذه القوة يقع في مدينة زايد العسكرية، مشيرة إلى أن الوحدات الأولى للقوة تضم عناصر من كولومبيا وجنوب أفريقيا ودول أخرى، وأشرف على تدريبها جنود أميركيون متقاعدون ومحاربون قدامى من وحدات العمليات الخاصة البريطانية والألمانية، وكذلك ما يعرف بالفيلق الأجنبي الفرنسي.

ويشير مسؤولون أميركيون إلى أن برنامج القوة السرية يحظى بدعم من نوع ما في واشنطن، ويقولون إن دول الخليج -ولاسيما الإمارات- تفتقر إلى الخبرة العسكرية، ولا غرابة في أنها تطلب الدعم من الخارج.

ورفض السفير الإماراتي لدى واشنطن يوسف العتيبة التعليق على هذا التقرير، كما رفض المتحدث باسم برنس التعليق أيضا.
