إحدى عجائب الطبيعة والذي كشفت عنه هناك في كاليفورنيا في الولايات المتحده الأميركيه, فهو "شلال النار", إنه ليس شلالاً من النار حقاً ولكن هناك قصة وراء ذلك تظهر من خلالها روعة إبداع الخالق وقدرته. لا يمكن أن ترى هذا المنظر النادر إلا في أسبوعين في نهاية شهر فبراير, حيث أن ظهوره يعتمد على الظواهر الطبيعية في نفس الوقت والحظ.

وهذا الشلال هو شلال مياه عادى, ولكن يتم عرض إنعكاس ضوء الشمس من الشلال لتصل إلى المياه التي تقع في زاوية محددة.

وعن خطوات حدوث هذا المشهد النادر الجميل, فتبدأ عندما يتكون الماء من ذوبان الثلوج والجليد في أعلى الجبل, وهي تذوب بين شهر ديسمبر ويناير ونهاية فبراير, تصل زاوية محددة من أشعة الشمس على تساقط المياه, ويجب أن تكون الشمس بالضبط في نقطة محددة في السماء, ويحدث هذا فقط في شهر فبراير وفي ساعات قصيرة من الغسق.

ويضطر المصورين في كثير من الأحيان لتصوير هذا الحدث النادر إلى الإنتظار والصبر من أجل التقاط الصور لهذا المنظر المذهل, حتى تتحين الظروف البيئية لذلك.
