الكشف عن المدن التي ستمر بها شعلة أولمبياد لندن 2012

احتفالات وعروض موسيقية ترافق تنقل الشعلة حول بريطاينا

كشفت اللجنة المنظمة لدورة الألعاب الأولمبية في لندن عام 2012 عن 74 موقعا في بريطانيا ستمر بها الشعلة الاولمبية بعد وصولها من اليونان وانطلاقها من بلدة لاندز ايند في كورنوول حتى وصولها إلى الإستاد الأولمبي شرقي العاصمة البريطانية في 27 يوليو/تموز 2012 إيذانا ببداية الدورة.
وتشمل المسيرة 13000 كيلومترا تشمل المرور على ثمانية آلاف محطة وتقوم اللجنة المنظمة بالبحث عن "حملة ملهمين للشعلة" بدأ من اليوم الأربعاء.
وستجوب الشعلة الأولمبية خلال 70 يوما مدنا بريطانية منها بريستول وكارديف وليفربول وبلفاست وغلاسغو وابردين ونيوكاسل ومانشستر وشيفيلد ونوتنغهام واكسفورد وساوثهامبتون ودوفر.
يذكر أن تقليد نقل الشعلة الأولمبية لهذه المسافات الطويلة يعود إلى العصور اليونانية السحيقة، حيث تم إرسال مبعوثين من أولمبيا لإعلان تواريخ المنافسات الرياضية، والدعوة إلى وقف الحروب خلال فترة إقامة الألعاب الرياضية.
وتم إحياء هذا التقليد في كل الألعاب الاولمبية التي تقام كل أربع سنوات، ابتداء من أولمبياد برلين عام 1936.
وتنطلق الشعلة الاولمبية من اليونان بعد أن توقد بواسطة أشعة الشمس باستخدام مرآة عاكسه، ثم يتم التجوال بها عبر اليونان وصولا إلى مكان إقامة الألعاب، التي ستنطلق في لندن 2012 هذه المرة.
