الوجبات السريعة لمادونالدز بين حب الاطفال و المطالبة بوقف التسويق

دعت المئات من المؤسسات المهنية والصحية بالولايات المتحدة الأميركية، شركة الأطعمة السريعة ماكدونالدز لوقف تسويق وجباتها للأطفال، لما تحتويه من أضرار صحية.
كما طالب هذه المؤسسات في رسالتها التي نشرتها ستة صحف أميركية رئيسية، ماكدونالدز لتقاعد شخصية المهرج رونالد ماكدونالد وطرق أخرى من الوسائل الإعلانية التي تعزز توزيع الوجبات الغذائية المرتفعة الملح والدهون والسكر والسعرات الحرارية للأطفال.
وجاء في الرسالة أن المستشفيات مليئة بالأطفال الذين يعانون من الأحوال الصحية المرتبطة بالغذاء الذي يأكلونه، مشيرة إلى أن زيادة أمراض السكر والقلب تعكس نمو الأعمال التجارية للوجبات السريعة، والتي تعد ماكدونالدز من بين العاملين بها.
من جانبها، دافعت شركة ماكدونالدز عن ممارساتها التسويقية، قائلة "إنها ملتزمة بمواصفات الإعلان المسؤولة"، ونوهت بأنها تتفهم أهمية صحة الطفل والتغذية وتلتزم بكونها جزءا من الحوار والحل في هذا الصدد، ووصفت الأغذية التي تقدمها بأنها "عالية الجودة"، وقالت إن الوجبات التي تقدمها للأطفال والتي تعرف باسم "الوجبات السعيدة" توفر خيارات متنوعة.
وتشكل بدانة الأطفال مشكلة خطيرة في الولايات المتحدة، في ظل حقيقة أن ما يقرب من ثلث الأطفال الأميركيين إما يعانون من البدانة والسمنة أو يعانون من زيادة في الوزن.
وقد أعلنت السيدة الأولى في الولايات المتحدة ميشيل أوباما أن مكافحة السمنة لدى الأطفال تمثل واحدة من أهم القضايا التي تناصرها.
ويأتي النداء، الذي وجهه الأطباء والصحيين الخميس قبل يوم واحد من الاجتماع السنوي للمساهمين في شركة ماكدونالدز التي تنتشر مطاعمها في جميع أنحاء الولايات المتحدة والعالم.
