كثرة اللحوم تسبب سرطان الأمعاء

الإكثار من اللحوم الحمراء من أسباب الإصابة بالسرطان

أصدر خبراء السرطان تحذيرا جديدا بشأن تناول اللحوم الحمراء والمصنعة بعد أن حمل تقرير رسمي عن الموضوع هذه اللحوم مسؤولية التسبب في هذا المرض.
فقد نصح صندوق بحوث السرطان العالمي -جمعية خيرية مقرها بريطانيا- الناس بالحد من تناول اللحوم الحمراء مثل لحم البقر والخنزير والضأن، والابتعاد تماما عن اللحوم المصنعة مثل لحم الخنزير المدخن والسلامي، نظرا لظهور دليل دامغ على أن هذين النوعين من اللحم يزيد خطر الإصابة بسرطان الأمعاء مما يعني أن على الناس أن يفكروا بجدية في تقليل الكمية التي يتناولونها.
وكانت الجمعية قد بدأت مناقشة عالمية عام 2007 عندما نشرت دراسة حددت اللحم باعتباره عامل خطر لأشكال مختلفة للسرطان.
وقام علماء في جامعة إمبريال كوليدج لندن، ممولين من هذه الجمعية، بقيادة الدكتورة تيريزا نورات بدراسة 263 ورقة بحث ظهرت منذ ذلك الحين، وخرجوا من الدراسة بأن هناك دليلا مقنعا على أن كلا من اللحم الأحمر والمعالج صناعيا يزيد خطر الإصابة بسرطان الأمعاء.
وأشارت غارديان إلى وصية الجمعية للناس بأن يقصروا الاستهلاك على 500 غرام من اللحم الأحمر أسبوعيا -ما يعادل تقريبا خمس أو ست قطع متوسطة من لحم البقر المشوي أو الضأن أو الخنزير- وتجنب اللحم المصنع.
وذكرت أن هناك نحو 36 ألف بريطاني يصابون بسرطان الأمعاء كل عام، ويموت من المرض نحو 16500 شخص. وهو ثاني أكبر سرطان قاتل في بريطانيا بعد سرطان الرئة.
يذكر أنه من الممكن منع نحو 17 ألف حالة في بريطانيا سنويا (43%) إذا ما أكل الناس لحوما أقل وزادوا من تناول الأغذية الغنية بالألياف مثل الحبوب الكاملة والبقوليات والفواكه والخضروات وحافظوا على وزن صحي ونشاط دائم. ويعتبر اللبن والثوم والمكملات الغذائية التي تحتوي على الكالسيوم من المقللات المحتملة لخطر المرض.
