استهل الاسباني رافايل نادال المنصف اول حملة الدفاع عن لقبه بطلا بطولة رولان غاروس الفرنسية، ثاني البطولات الاربع الكبرى في التنس، بفوز شاق للغاية على الاميركي جون ايسنر حيث احتاج الى اكثر من 4 ساعات لبلوغ الدور الثاني بالفوز عليه 6-4 و6-7 (2-7) و6-7 (2-7) و6-2 و6-4 الثلاثاء.
واعتقد الجميع ان نادال في طريقه للتخلص بسهولة من عقبة منافسه الاميركي البالغ من العمر 26 عاما والمصنف 39 عالميا بعدما حسم المجموعة الاولى دون عناء 6-4 في 46 دقيقة، لكن ايسنر الباحث عن لقبه الاحترافي الثاني فقط بعد ان افتتح باكورة القابه العام الماضي في دورة اوكلاند كاد ان يحقق المفاجأة المدوية ويلحق بالاسباني هزيمته الثانية فقط في هذه البطولة بعد التي مني بها في ثمن نهائي 2009 على يد وصيف النسخة الماضية السويدي روبن سودرلينغ بفوزه في المجموعتين الثانية والثالثة عبر شوطين فاصلين.
وفشل اي من اللاعبين في فرض نفسه على الاخر في المجموعة الثانية سوى مرة واحدة بفوز كل منهما على ارسال الاخر مرة واحدة، فاحتكما الى شوط فاصل حسمه الاميركي بسهولة 7-2 ليفوز بالمجموعة في 55 دقيقة، وتكرر المشهد ذاته في المجموعة الثالثة التي فشل خلالها نادال في استغلال ثلاث فرص للفوز على ارسال منافسه فدفع الثمن وخسرها في النهاية بشوط فاصل بعد 56 دقيقة.
لكن الاسباني الباحث عن معادلة الرقم القياسي من حيث عدد الالقاب في هذه البطولة (6) والمسجل باسم السويدي بيورن بورغ، انتفض في المجموعة الرابعة وحسمها بسهولة في 34 دقيقة بعدما كسر ارسال منافسه مرتين، ثم واصل اندفاعه في الخامسة وفاز على ارسال الاميركي مرة اخرى ليتقدم 3-1 و4-2 ثم حسم المجموعة 6-4 في 50 دقيقة والمباراة في اربع ساعات دقيقة، محققا فوزه الثالث من اصل ثلاث مواجهات مع الاميركي الذي دخل تاريخ الكرة الصفراء الموسم الماضي خلال الدور الاول من بطولة ويمبلدون عندما احتاج الى 11 ساعة و5 دقائق توزعت على 3 ايام من اجل الفوز على الفرنسي نيكولا ماهو 6-4 و3-6 و6-7 (7-9) و70-68.
ويلتقي نادال الباحث عن لقبه العاشر في بطولات الغراند سلام (رولان غاروس اعوام 2005 و2006 و2007 و2008 و2010 وويمبلدون 2008 و2010 وملبورن الاسترالية 2009 والولايات المتحدة 2010)، في الدور الثاني مع مواطنه بابلو اندوخار الذي تغلب بدوره على الكولومبي سانتياغو جيرالدو 7-6 و6-3 و6-3.
يذكر ان نادال احرز لقبين هذا الموسم في دورة مونتي كارلو للماسترز ودورة برشلونة بفوزه في النهائيين على مواطنه دافيد فيرر، رافعا رصيده الى 45 لقبا، لكنه خسر ثلاث مباريات نهائية امام الصربي نوفاك ديوكوفيتش في دورات ميامي ومدريد وروما للماسترز، اضافة الى خسارته في نصف نهائي دورة الدوحة امام الروسي نيكولاي دافدينكو وربع نهائي بطولة استراليا المفتوحة امام فيرر.
وتأهل البريطاني أندي موراي المصنف رابعا الى الدور الثاني بفوزه على الفرنسي أريك برودون 6-4 و6-1 و6-3.
ويلتقي موراي الذي بلغ نهائي الدورات الكبرى 3 مرات وربع نهائي رولان غاروس منذ عامين، مع الايطالي سيموني بوليلي في الدور المقبل.
وودع الاسباني نيكولاس الماغرو الحادي عشر البطولة من الباب الصغير بخسارته امام البولندي لوكاس كوبوت 6-3 و6-2 و6-7 (2-7) و6-7 (2-7) و4-6، فيما فاز النمسوي يورغن ميلتسر الثامن على الالماني اندرياس بيك 6-3 و6-4 و6-2، والالماني فلوريان ماير العشرون على الروسي ايغور كونيتسين 6-3 و4-6 و6-4 و6-3.
كما تغلب الاوكراني الكسندر دولغوبولوف جونيور الحادي والعشرون على الالماني راينر شوتلر 6-3 و6-3 و6-2، والكرواتي ايفان ليوبيسيتش على الهندي سومديف ديفارمان 6-4 و6-3 و6-4، والنمسوي أندرياس هايدر-ماورر على الاميركي راين سويتينغ 6-1 و6-7 (5-7) و6-2 و6-صفر.
ولدى السيدات، حققت الروسية ماريا شارابوفا المصنفة سابعة بداية نارية بعد تغلبها على الكرواتية ميريانا لوسيتش 6-3 و6-صفر في الدور الاول.
واحتاجت شارابوفا الى 56 دقيقة فقط للتفوق على لوسيتش، وذلك بعد جرعة المعنويات التي تلقتها باحراز دورة روما الاخيرة، وهي الاولى لها منذ بطولة استراليا المفتوحة عام 2008.
وارتكبت المصنفة اولى عالميا سابقا 9 اخطاء مباشرة فقط ولم تفتح الباب لمنافستها بكسر ارسالها ولا مرة في المباراة، وفازت في 56 كرة في اللقاء مقابل 24 لخصمتها.
وتأمل الحسناء الروسية ان تحرز لقب رولان غاروس وهو الوحيد بين الدورات الاربع الكبرى الغائبة عن خزائنها.
وتلتقي شارابوفا في الدور المقبل مع الفرنسية الشابة كارولين غارسيا الفائزة على التشيكية سوسانا أوندراسكوفا 6-3 و6-4.
وبلغت الدور الثاني ايضا البيلاروسية فيكتوريا ازارنكا الرابعة بفوزها على التشيكية اندريا هلافاسكوفا بسهولة تامة 6-3 و6-3، لتواجه الفائزة من مباراة الفرنسية بولين بارمونتييه المشاركة ببطاقة دعوة والروسية كسينيا بيرفاك.
وتغلبت الصينية لي نا السادسة على التشيكية باربورا زاهلافوفا ستريكوفا في مباراة قوية 6-3 و6-7 (6-7) و6-3.
وتلتقي لي، التي اصبحت اول لاعبة صينية تبلغ نهائي احدى الدورات الكبرى في استراليا هذا العام، مع الاسبانية سيلفيا سولير اسبينوزا المتأهلة من التصفيات والفائزة على الروسية ايلينا فيسنينا 4-6 و6-3 و6-4.
