لا يعرف الإنسان أي مستحيل مهما بدا غريباً أو غير منطقي حتى لو كان جسراً مائياً فوق الماء لعبور السفن!!:

فما تشاهدونه في الأعلى هو صورة حقيقية لجسر ماجديبورغ المائي في ألمانيا، وهو أحد أغرب جسور العالم لأنه مصمم لعبور السفن فوق نهر ألب في ألمانيا!
يبلغ طول هذا الممر المائي 918 متر وعرضه 43 متر، ويربط بين قناتي ألب ـ هافل وميتيلاند في ألمانيا.

كانت قناتي ألب ـ هافل وميتيلاند متصلتين بممر مائي قديم تمر من خلاله السفن عبر نهر ألب لمسافة 12 كيلومتر، وكان لهذا الممر مشكلة مزعجة هي انخفاض منسوب المياه في نهر ألب ما كان يتطلب حوضاً لرفع وخفض السفن عند انتقالها من وإلى نهر ألب، وكانت هذه العملية تطلب وقتاً وجهداً كبيرين لذا بحث المهندسون عن طرق أخرى لربط القناتين مع بعض فكانت الفكرة هي جسر يمر فوق النهر!!

المثير أن المشروع ليس حديثاً بل بدأ العمل فيه في ثلاثينات القرن الماضي، ثم توقف بسبب الحرب العالمية الثانية وبعدها بسبب تقسيم ألمانيا حتى عاد العمل فيه عام 1997، ليكتمل بناؤه ويتم افتتاحه لمرور السفن بعد 6 سنوات في عام 2003.

تكلف الجسر الذي نشاهده في الصور 727 مليون دولار واحتاج حوض القناة لـ 24,000 طن من الفولاذ و68,000 متر مكعب من الأسمنت. ولتتخيلوا حجم هذا الإنجاز الهندسي تصوروا أن هذا الجسر يحمل 134 ألف طن من الماء ليكون قادراً على رفع السفن الكبيرة!!
