Les titulaires de Diplôme d’études universitaires appliquées (DEUA) montent au créneau. Au moment où les étudiants se préparent pour la conférence nationale qui débattra des passerelles entre le LMD et le système classique, ces diplômés, qui ont passé trois ans à l’université, réclament une possibilité de poursuivre leurs études.
. Ils demandent leur classement à la catégorie 11.
«Il est inconcevable de classer le DEUA (bac+3) au même échelon que les techniciens supérieurs formés au CFPA», ont-ils contesté. De l’avis des délégués reçus jeudi par des fonctionnaires du ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, la réunion n’était pas concluante. «Ils nous ont promis de sensibiliser les autres secteurs du fait que le grade de DEUA diffère de celui de TS. Rien de plus. D’ailleurs, ces représentants du ministère ont refusé de signer le PV de la réunion sous prétexte que nous ne sommes pas reconnus officiellement», a dénoncé un délégué, précisant que c’est la base qui les a choisis.

Autrefois, les DEUA avaient le grade d’ingénieur d’application, qui était, d’après l’ancienne classification, à la catégorie 15. Actuellement, les DEUA sont classés à la catégorie 10 sans avoir droit à la promotion, et ce, quel que soit le nombre d’années d’expérience. Non reconnus par les différents secteurs, y compris le secteur public, les titulaires de DEUA se retrouvent en majorité au chômage ; ils demandent de pouvoir rejoindre les universités pour obtenir un diplôme reconnu, à savoir l’ingéniorat ou une licence dans la même spécialité. Mais là aussi, ces diplômés sont confrontés à d’autres obstacles. D’après la décision du 16 septembre 1998, ne sont acceptés au cycle long que les détenteurs du DEUA ayant obtenu une autorisation de l’organisme employeur et qui ont exercé au moins 3 ans.

Malheureusement, la plupart de ces diplômés sont chômeurs. De plus, ceux qui remplissent ces conditions ont trouvé les portes fermées. Le système classique a cédé la place au système LMD. Pour ce qui est de l’intégration des DEUA dans le système LMD, les représentants du ministère ont exhorté les protestataires à attendre les résultats de la conférence nationale qui apportera des solutions, notamment pour les passerelles entre le nouveau et l’ancien système. Entre temps, les titulaires de DEUA envisagent d’organiser un rassemblement devant le ministère du Travail pour mettre fin à l’injustices de leur classement par la Fonction publique.
