منظمة الصحة العالمية تثير احتمال تسبب الهاتف المحمول في مرض السرطان

أفادت منظمة الصحة العالمية بأن استخدام الهاتف المحمول يجب أن يصنف باعتباره "مسببا محتملا للسرطان" وهو ما قد يدفعها إلى إعادة النظر في ارشاداتها بشأن الهواتف المحمولة وحث المستهلكين على التقليل من استخدامها.

قال خبراء في السرطان بمنظمة الصحة العالمية يوم الثلاثاء إن استخدام الهاتف المحمول قد يزيد خطر الاصابة بأنواع معينة من سرطان الدماغ لدى الانسان ويتعين على المستهلكين البحث عن سبل لتقليل الاستخدام.
وقالت مجموعة من 31 عالما من 14 دولة في اجتماع للوكالة الدولية لأبحاث السرطان التابعة للمنظمة إن مراجعة لكافة الأدلة العلمية المتاحة تشير إلى أن استخدام الهاتف المحمول يجب أن يصنف باعتباره "مسببا محتملا للسرطان".
وقال العلماء إن هذه النتيجة قد تدفع منظمة الصحة العالمية لإعادة النظر في إرشاداتها بشأن الهواتف المحمولة لكنهم اضافوا انه من الضروري إجراء مزيد من الأبحاث قبل الجزم بوجود أي ارتباط محتمل.
وكانت المنظمة التابعة للأمم المتحدة قالت في وقت سابق انه لا يوجد دليل قوي على وجود علاقة بين استخدام الهاتف المحمول والإصابة بالسرطان.
وقال جوناثان سامت رئيس مجموعة الوكالة الدولية لأبحاث السرطان في بيان عبر الهاتف "بعد مراجعة جميع الأدلة ذات الصلة بشكل اساسي ... صنف فريق العمل مجالات الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية اللاسلكية على انها يحتمل أن تسبب السرطان للبشر."
وقال إن بعض الادلة تشير إلى وجود صلة بين زيادة خطر الاصابة بورم دبقي وهو نوع من انواع سرطان الدماغ واستخدام الهاتف المحمول.
وقد ارتفع استخدام الهاتف المحمول بشكل كبير منذ بدء استخدامه في أوائل الثمانينات وبلغ عدد مستخدمي الهاتف المحمول في العالم الآن خمسة مليارات. ومنذ ذلك الحين بات الهاتف المحمول جزءا رئيسيا من الحياة اليومية ويستخدمه كثيرون من أجل تصفح الإنترنت فضلا عن الكلام ويقول خبراء الصناعة إن الخطر على الصحة لن يمنع الناس من استخدام الهاتف المحمول.
وقال ماثيو ثورنتون المحلل بافيان سكيوريتيز انه بدلا من ذلك قد يختار المستهلكون المهتمون بالامر شراء المزيد من الملحقات مثل السماعات للحد من المخاطر.
واضاف "ستكون هناك حاجة لبعض الحجج الدامغة لتغيير السلوك."
وانتظرت شركات الهاتف المحمول بشغف موقف منظمة الصحة العالمية وكذلك الجماعات التي اثارت مخاوف بشأن ما إذا كانت الهواتف المحمولة قد تكون ضارة بالصحة.
وسعت مجموعات الصناعة على الفور إلى التهوين من القرار وشددت على أن فئة "المسببات المحتملة للسرطان" تتضمن أيضا مواد مثل الخضراوات المخللة والقهوة.
