الحكومة المصرية توافق على مشروع قانون بإنشاء مدينة زويل للعلوم والتكنولوجيا

وافقت الحكومة المصرية فى اجتماع أمس الأربعاء /1 يونيو الحالي/ على مشروع قانون بإنشاء مدينة زويل للعلوم والتكنولوجيا وهى مشروع اقترحه العالم المصري أحمد زويل الحاصل على جائزة نوبل فى الفيزياء.

وقال رئيس الوزراء عصام شرف إن الموافقة على مشروع قانون بإنشاء المدينة تأتى فى اطار اهتمام مصر بالعلم خلال المرحلة المقبلة، موضحا أن " تقدم الأمم مرهون دائما بتقدم العلم والبحث العلمى".

واعتبر شرف، فى مؤتمر صحفى مشترك مع زويل، إنشاء مدينة زويل للعلوم والتكنولوجيا حلما، مؤكدا أن التوجه العام لمصر هو الاهتمام البالغ بالتعليم والبحث العلمى بصورة عامة وبمشروع زويل بصورة خاصة.

وأشار إلى أن الحكومة اصرت على ان يحمل المشروع اسم زويل الذى يمثل فخرا لمصر كلها.

من جانبه، قال الدكتور أحمد زويل إن مشروعه ليس مجرد جامعة بل مدينة متكاملة للابحاث والتكنولوجيا والعلوم غير قائمة على الربح وتضم كافة القطاعات لأبناء مصر المتميزين سواء القادرين أو غير القادرين ماديا.

وأوضح زويل أن المدينة ستضم مراكز للتميز وحضانات تكنولوجية سيتم فيها التركيز على مجالات الطاقة وتأثير المياه على التربة وتكنولوجيا وعلوم المياه والموارد الطبيعية.

وأشار إلى أنه تقرر ان يكون للمدينة مجلس امناء، مبينا أنه تم بالفعل الاتفاق مع ستة علماء حاصلين على جوائز نوبل واثنين من رؤساء الجامعات الامريكية على المشاركة فى المجلس بجانب علماء مصريين مقيمين بالخارج.

ولفت إلى أنه تم انشاء مجلس استشارى للمدينة كافة اعضائه من المصريين امثال الدكتور محمد غنيم وحازم الببلاوى واحمد جلاب والدكتور مصطفى السيد.

ونوه زويل بأنه سيتم فتح عدة حسابات بالبنوك المصرية للتبرع للمشروع آملا ان تصل الموازنة المبدئية للمشروع مليار دولار، مطالبا المواطنين المصريين بالالتفاف حول المدينة باعتبارها مشروعا قوميا.
