أكد مسؤول في الحكومة اليمنية أن الرئيس علي عبد الله صالح على قيد الحياة وسيلقي كلمة للأمة وذلك ردا على تقارير متضاربة عن مقتله بعد تبادل القصف بين




قوات صالح وقوات موالية للزعيم القبلي حميد الأحمر. وقال عبده الجنادي نائب وزير الاعلام ان الرئيس بخير وسيلقي كلمة خلال ساعة وأنه حدثت اصابات طفيفة لبعض المسؤولين، وتناقلت وسائل إعلامية أنباء عن جرح صالح نفسه فيما قالت قناة تديرها المعارضة إن صالح قتل.
وذكرت قناتا "الجزيرة" و"العربية" الفضائيتان أن قذيفتين على الأقل سقطتا على القصر الرئاسي، وذكرت وكالة رويترز إن مسؤولي الرئاسة اليمنية لا يردون على هواتفهم، فيما أكدت قناة العربية أن رئيس الوزراء ورئيس البرلمان وأربعة وزراء آخرين جرحوا جروح ما بين المتوسطة والخطيرة في القصف.

بينما ذكر التليفزيون الرسمي اليمني أن صالح بخير وسيتوجه بكلمة للشعب اليمني، وتمكنت قوات صالح من فض المعتصمين من ساحتهم الرئيسية المسماة بالحرية، ويستعد أنصار صالح للاحتفال بما أسموها "جمعة الأمن والأمان".

وكانت قوات الأمن اليمنية قصفت صباح الجمعة منزل الزعيم القبلي حميد الأحمر بصنعاء مع امتداد القتال بين القوات الحكومية ورجال القبائل إلى الجزء الجنوبي من العاصمة اليمنية.

وتسبب القتال الشرس في شوارع صنعاء الذي اندلع بعد احتجاجات تطالب بسقوط صالح منذ يناير في مقتل 135 شخصا على الاقل خلال الايام العشرة الماضية مما يثير القلق بشأن مصير اليمن الذي يقف بالفعل على شفا كارثة اقتصادية.
