طفلك كالجوهرة النفيسة الخالية من كل نقش، فإذا عوَّدتَه الخير في صغره؛ نشأ على ذلك، وسَعِدَ في دنياه وآخرته، وشاركته ثوابه في كل ما يعمل.
وإذا أهملْتَهُ، وسلكَ طريقَ الشر والفساد؛ شبَّ على ذلك وخسر الدنيا والآخرة، وكانت كلُّ أوزارهِ في عنقك.
وينشأُ ناشئٌ الفتيان منّا **** على ما كانَ عوَّدهُ أبوه
وإذا كنا نخافُ على أبنائنا أن تمسَّهم نار الدنيا، ونهرعُ بهم إلى الطبيب إن أصابهم المرض والحمى.. فلماذا لا نصون أبناءنا من نار الآخرة؟!.

- علِّم ابنك مناقشة الأمور قبل الحكم عليها، وأن يعبِّر عن رأيه فيما يحبّ وما يكره، وفيما يعتقد أنّه الأفضل..
- دعهُ ينتقد برنامجاً تلفزيونيّاً أو قصةً أو مقالاً، ولو كان صغيراً..
- علِّمه أن يحلّ مشاكله بنفسه، وأن يقدِّم المشكلة ومعها خيارات للحلِّ، وساعده في إختيار الحلِّ الأنسب.
- امنحه فرصة الإختيار في الأمور التي تتعلق به، فيشتري الملابس التي يفضِّلها (ولكن ضمن المألوف في المجتمع).. نبِّهه إلى مساوئ الألبسة التي عليها صور اللاعبين أو المطربين، أو كلمات فاحشة أو مقاطع من أغنيات..
- علِّمه أن يكون صبوراً وقادراً على الإنتظار قبل أن يحصل على ما يريد، وأن يقبل كلمة "لا" كجواب على بعض طلباته..
- عوِّده على أن ينشأ على نظام صحي سليم في طعامه وشرابه، في نومه وإسترخائه، وشجِّعه على القيام بنشاط رياضي منتظم.
- اذكر حسناته وشجِّعه على تطويرها نحو الأفضل، فذلك يُنمِّي ثقته بنفسه.
- علِّمه أن يكون معتدلاً في كل شيء، وأنّ الله لا يحب المسرفين؛ فلا يفرط في مصروفه، ولا يبذِّر فيما تنفق عليه.
- حذِّره من مخاطر المخدرات والمسكرات والأمراض الجنسية وغيرها.. أعطه فكرة مبسطة عن تلك الأمور، واربطها بوعيه الديني، وبإلتزامه بمبادئ الإسلام، وبتقوى الله في كل شيء.

يقول أحد خبراء التربية:
- إذا عاش الطفل في جو من النقد الدائم، تعلَّم الذم..
- وإذا عاش في جو من الخوف، تعلَّم الإحباط..
- وإذا عاش في جو من الغيرة، عرف معنى الحسد..
- وإذا عاش في جو من العداء، تعلَّم المشاجرة..
- وإذا عاش في جو من المشاركة، تعلَّم الكرم.
- وإذا عاش في جو من الأمانة، تعلَّم العدل.
- وإذا عاش في جو من الرضا، تعلَّم الحب..
- وإذا عاش في جو من التسامح، تعلَّم الصبر..
- وإذا عاش في جو من المعرفة، تعلَّم قيمة الأشياء..
- وإذا عشتِ أنتِ يا أُمَّه في هدوء فإن طفلك سوف يعيش في أمان!.
