فوائد التفاح متعددة

يبدو أن المقولة الشهيرة "تفاحة يوميا تبعد الطبيب والأمراض" حقيقية، فقد اكتشف علماء أن تناول تفاحة في اليوم يقوي العضلات ويكافح الدهون في الجسم.
وقالت ديلي تلغراف إن الباحثين اكتشفوا أن حمض اليروليك -مادة موجودة في القشرة- له خواص طبيعية لبناء الجسم، ويمكن أن يساعد الناس في المحافظة على رشاقة ونحافة أجسامهم، بل يمكن أن يساعد في علاج مرض السكري.
وقد بينت التجارب أن هذه المادة تعزز نمو العضلات بنحو 15%، وتقلل دهون الجسم بأكثر من النصف.
وبحسب الدراسة الجديدة فإن لهذه المادة خواص صحية، إذ إنها تقلل مستويات السكر في الدم والكولسترول والأحماض الدهنية الضارة.
وقال الدكتور كريستوفر آدامز الذي قاد الدراسة بجامعة أيوا الأميركية إن هذه المادة يمكن أن تكون مفيدة بصفة خاصة مع المسنين الذين تضعف عضلاتهم بطريقة طبيعية مع تقدم السن فيما يعرف بالضمور العضوي.
وأضاف أن "ضمور العضلات يسبب مشاكل جمة، كما أنه شائع جدا، حيث إنه يؤثر في معظم الناس عند مرحلة معينة من حياتهم أثناء المرض أو تقدم السن. لكن هذه الحالة ليس لها علاج في الطب، وقد درسنا نشاط جينة العضلة في الأشخاص المصابين بالضمور واستخدمنا تلك المعلومات لإيجاد مواد كيميائية يمكن أن تعيق الضمور. وكانت إحدى تلك المواد الكيميائية شيقة بصفة خاصة وهي حمض اليروليك الموجود بكثرة في قشر التفاح".
وقد بينت الدراسة التي نشرت في العدد الأخير لمجلة "أيض الخلية" أن حمض اليروليك قلل هزال العضلات في فئران التجارب.
ويعتقد الباحثون أن هذه المادة تعمل على إعادة برمجة الجينات التي تسبب هزال العضلات وتراكم الدهون.
ومن المثير للاهتمام أنه رغم أن حمض اليروليك زاد وزن العضلة في الفئران فإنه لم يزد وزن الجسم الكلي، وقد بين المزيد من البحث أن الفئران التي غُذيت بحمض اليروليك كان الدهن فيها أقل من التي لم تُطعم هذا المركب الكيميائي.
والآن يخطط الباحثون لتجربة هذه المادة على البشر لمعرفة ما إذا كان لها نفس التأثير.
