الفاكهة المجففة أفضل من العصائر

تشجع معظم التوجيهات الصحية الناس على تناول المشروبات مثل عصير البرتقال والتفاح للمحافظة على نظام غذائي صحي متوازن ومع ذلك تتجاهل الفاكهة المجففة.
لكن نتائج دراستين بريطانيتين نشرتهما ديلي تلغراف قلبتا هذه النصيحة رأسا على عقب بعدما توصلتا إلى ضرورة تجنب العصائر وتشجيع تناول الفاكهة المجففة.
فقد وجدت الدراسة الأولى أنه حتى عصائر الفاكهة الطازجة يمكن أن تحتوي على أكثر من خمس ملاعق سكر لكل كوب لأن عملية العصر نفسها تركز حلاوتها.
وهذا يمثل نحو ثلثي الكمية الموجودة في علبة صودا ويمكن أن يساهم في البدانة وكذلك إرباك مستويات السكر في الدم وعملية الاستقلاب الطبيعية للجسم.
وقال الباحثون أصحاب الدراسة الأولى بجامعة بانغور في شمال ويلز بضرورة إزالة العصائر من قائمة الأغذية التي ينصح بتناولها خمس مرات يوميا لتشجيع الناس على تناول الفاكهة والخضراوات الطازجة بدلا من ذلك لما فيها من مواد غذائية أكبر بكثير.
وقال الدكتور هانز بيتر كوبيس إن عصائر الفاكهة يمكن أن تشجع على حب الحلويات. ونصح بضرورة تخفيف مقدار واحد من عصير الفاكهة بأربعة مقادير من الماء لجعله مفيدا أكثر للصحة.
وفي الدراسة الثانية التي أجريت في جامعة ليدز وجد الباحثون أن الفاكهة المجففة تحتوي على كثير من مضادات الأكسدة والبوليفينول (مواد كيميائية نباتية واقية) والعناصر الغذائية مثل الفاكهة العادية.
وكشفت الدراسة أن الفاكهة المجففة يمكن أن تساعد في مكافحة السرطان وأمراض أخرى بعضها له صلة بالقلب. كما أنها مصدر جيد للألياف والفيتامينات والمعادن.
ودعا الباحثون لتشجيع الناس على تناول المزيد من الفاكهة المجففة وتضمينها في رسائل الحصص الخمس اليومية.
وقال الأستاذ غاري ويليامسون إن الفاكهة المجففة غالبا ما كانت تُغفل لأن الناس افترضوا أنها كانت حلوة المذاق أكثر من اللازم لتكون جيدة للشخص.
وأضاف أن بعض الفاكهة بما في ذلك الجافة منها تحتوي على مستويات عالية لتشكيلة من البوليفينول وأنهم بدؤوا يفهمون تأثيرها الوقائي للصحة.
