اهم الطائرات الحربية المشاركة في عملية "فجر الاوذيسة"
بعد إصدار مجلس الأمن الدولي القرار رقم 1973 القاضي بفرض حظر جوي على ليبيا سارعت دول التحالف وعلى رأسها الولايات المتحدة إلى حشد قواتها لتنفيذ هجمات جوية على ليبيا.
تستهدف عملية "فجر الاوذيسة" الموجهة ضد ليبيا في مراحلها الأولى ضرب القواعد العسكرية ومراكز القيادة وخطوط الامداد الرئيسية لقوات القذافي. ولتنفيذ المهمة تم إحضار طائرات هجومية وقاذفات صواريخ بعضها على حاملات طائرات أمريكية وفرنسية متمركزة في عرض المتوسط، وأخرى في قواعد عسكرية في إيطاليا. وهذا عرض لأهم الطائرات الحربية التي يستخدمها الحلف في عملياته ضد ليبيا:

صنعت بي ـ تو خلال فترة الحرب الباردة ونفذت أول طلعة لها في نوفمبر عام 1977. تعد هذه الطائرة من القاذفات بعيدة المدى وتتميز بشكلها الغريب الذي يساعدها على تضليل نظم الرادار. وقد شاركت في الحرب على أفغانستان عام 2001.
