دخل فتى صغير إلى... محل تسوق و جذب صندوق إلى أسفل كابينة الهاتف .
وقف الفتى فوق الصندوق ليصل إلى أزرار الهاتف و بدأ باتصال هاتفي...
انتبه صاحب المحل للموقف و بدأ بالاستماع إلى المحادثة التي يجريها الفتى.
قال الفتى: "سيدتي : أيمكنني العمل لديك في تهذيب عشب حديقتك" ؟
أجابت السيدة: " لدي من يقوم بهذا العمل ".
قال الفتى : " سأقوم بالعمل بنصف الأجرة التي يأخذها هذا الشخص" .
أجابت السيدة بأنها راضية بعمل ذلك الشخص و لا تريد استبداله.
أصبح الفتى أكثر إلحاحا و قال: "سأنظف أيضا ممر المشاة و الرصيف أمام منزلك، و ستكون حديقتك أجمل حديقة في مدينة بالم بيتش فلوريدا"
و مرة أخرى أجابته السيدة بالنفي...
تبسم الفتى و أقفل الهاتف.
تقدم صاحب المحل - الذي كان يستمع إلى المحادثة - إلى الفتى و قال له: لقد أعجبتني همتك العالية،
وأحترم هذه المعنويات الإيجابية فيك و أعرض عليك فرصة للعمل لدي في المحل.
أجاب الفتى الصغير : "لا ، وشكرا لعرضك،
غير أني فقط كنت أتأكد من أدائي للعمل الذي أقوم به حاليا. إنني أعمل لهذه السيدة التي كنت أتحدث إليها."
ما أحوجنا لمثل هذا التقويم الذاتي وبشكل دائم…
