بعد اقتحام عددٍ من مجمّعات الرئيس الليبي الملاحق العقيد معمر القذافي وأولاده، فتح الثوار الباب لوسائل الإعلام للاطلاع على الجوانب الخاصة لحياة إحدى أشهر وأقوى العائلات الليبية. وأوردت وكالات الأنباء صورا جديدة لوحيدة القذافي عائشة أو كلوديا شيفر الليبية، كما أسمتها وسائل الإعلام.
وأظهرت الصور المسرّبة جانبا من حياة الابنة المدللة، حيث تبين أنها كانت من محبّات السفر والسياحة، بالإضافة إلى حفلات أعياد ميلادها، وصورا أخرى لصديقاتها، وغيرها الكثير.
ولطالما شكلت أية معلومات عن عائشة القذافي محطّ اهتمام الشعب الليبي والعربي وحتى العالمي، الذي كان يرجح أن تصبح خليفة والدها في يومٍ من الأيام نظرا لنشاطاتها السياسية والاجتماعية. وكانت عائشة شكلت في مرحلةٍ من مراحل حكم والدها الوجه الإعلامي المؤنث للنظام الليبي الملاحق.
يشار إلى أن عائشة القذافي فرّت مع والدتها واثنين من أشقائها الرجل إلى الجزائر بعد سقوط العاصمة طرابلس بأيدي الثوار، حيث كانت حاملا في الشهر التاسع وأنجبت مولودةً أطلقت عليها "صفية".
