قواعد أمريكية عسكرية سرية في شبه الجزيرة العربية


نقلت صحيفة واشنطن بوست عن مسؤولين أمريكيين قولهم، أمس الأربعاء، إن الولايات المتحدة تبني شبكة من القواعد السرية لطائرات بلا طيار في القرن الإفريقي وشبه الجزيرة العربية في إطار حملة نشطة ضد جماعات مرتبطة بالقاعدة في الصومال واليمن.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن واحدة من تلك القواعد التي تقام لطائرات غير مأهولة يجري إنشاؤها في أثيوبيا كما تم بناء قاعدة أخرى في جزر سيشل بالمحيط الهندي. وقال التقرير أن أسطولا صغيرا من الطائرات ”الصائدة القاتلة” استأنفت عملياتها في الجزيرة هذا الشهر بعد أن أثبتت مهمة تجريبية نجاح هذا النوع من الطائرات في القيام بدوريات فعالة في الصومال انطلاقا من الجزر.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن الجيش الأمريكي أطلق طائرات بلا طيار فوق الصومال واليمن من قواعد في دولة جيبوتي الإفريقية وأن وكالة المخابرات المركزية الأمريكية (سي.اي.ايه) تبني مهبطا سريا للطائرات في شبه الجزيرة العربية لتتمكن من نشر طائرات بلا طيار فوق اليمن. ورفض البيت الأبيض الأمريكي التعليق على التقرير.
واعترف مسؤولون في الولايات المتحدة وسيشل من قبل بوجود طائرات بلا طيار في الجزر لكنهم قالوا إن مهمتها الأولى هي ملاحقة القراصنة. وقالت واشنطن بوست ان البرقيات الدبلوماسية الأمريكية السرية أظهرت أن طائرات بلا طيار نفذت أيضا مهام لمكافحة الإرهاب فوق الصومال.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن البرقيات التي حصل عليها موقع ويكيليكس الإلكتروني كشفت أن مسؤولين أمريكيين طلبوا من المسؤولين في سيشل الحفاظ على سرية مهام مكافحة الإرهاب.
