كثرة الماء تقلل سرطان المثانة

أفاد باحثون بأن الرجال الذين يكثرون من شرب الماء يوميا يمكن أن يقل لديهم خطر الإصابة بسرطان المثانة بنحو الربع.
وبينت دراسة لـ48 ألف رجل أن أولئك الذين شربوا أكثر من لترين ونصف من السوائل يوميا انخفض لديهم خطر سرطان المثانة بنسبة 24%.
وعزا الباحثون السبب في ذلك إلى إمكانية أن السوائل تطرد أي عوامل مسببة للسرطان خارج المثانة قبل أن تتمكن من إحداث أي ضرر.
وكان علماء بجامعة براون بولاية رود أيلند الأميركية قد حللوا إجابات استبيان من مكتب متابعة المهنيين الصحيين التابع لكلية هارفارد للصحة العامة الذي أجرى البحث على رجال من سن 40 فما فوق خلال فترة دامت 22 سنة.
وقد سئل المشاركون عن كمية السوائل التي يشربونها بانتظام خلال فواصل زمنية مدتها 4 سنوات، وبينت النتائج أن فائدة شرب السوائل كانت أعلى عندما كان الرجال أصغر سنا وضعفت العلاقة مع تقدم السن.
كذلك بينت الدراسة التي قدمت في مؤتمر للسرطان بالولايات المتحدة أن الرجال قللوا حصتهم من شرب السوائل، خاصة الماء، عندما صاروا أكبر سنا.
ويشار إلى أن أكثر من 10 آلاف شخص في بريطانيا يتم تشخيص إصابتهم بسرطان المثانة كل سنة، وهو رابع أكثر أمراض السرطان شيوعا بين الرجال.
وينتشر المرض بين الرجال أكثر من النساء وغالبا يحدث بين سن 50 و80 سنة.
