تتميز مستغانم بنظافة ازقتها و جمال شواطئها و منتجاعتها

و تعدد اصل السكان و نجد سكان مستغانم من جميع الولايات ومن العهود
القديمة تواجد بمستغانم حضارة عتيقة من تحضر و بداوة وهذا لانه كان اجتماع
العرب بالاتراك و بالاندلسين و بالعلج " المسيحين المعتنقين الاسلام"

على البحر و الحضارة و كبارالمؤرخين مصدرها البحر و مستغانم تطل على البحر
المتوسط و هناك التنافس الفكري و التنوع و التبادل الثقافي اما الميزة
الاساسية لمدينة مستغانم ان السر الثقافة و توسعها و انتشارها و عظمتها
يرجع الى الولع المستغانمية بالعلم و الثقافة

من ياتي الى مستغانم يطيب له المقام فيها ولا يخرج منها الا مضطرا
يقول
القاضي حشلاف في كتاب "سلسلة الاصول ابناء الرسول" أن مستغانم مدينة
مرتفعة البناء طيبة الهواء باهية المنظر
يكسوها رونقا على ضفة البحر الأبيض
المتوسط، هي مدينة قديمة
متوسطة لا كبيرة ولا صغيرة كانت
بها أسواق عامرة و تجارة وأرباح متوسطة
يقصدها التجار من الأماكن البعيدة كما
يقصدها السكان لما بها من الخصب
والرخص وتيسير المعيشة والأمن و ما اتسعت مستغانم إلا بعد نزول الشريف سيدي
عبدالله. تحف مستغانم البساتين من كل النواحي ، غالبا غرسها العنب كثيرة
الفواكه
اللحم اللبن والسمك ويجلب لها القمح والشعير والسمن والعسل
والصوف من باديتها .بها
حمامات ومساجد كثيرة منها المسجد العتيق
الذي بناه السلطان المنصور بالله أبو الحسن علي بن عبد الحق المريني................

انها مدينة ابدية شاهقة ترفض
بأن تكون مركبة كالمدن الاخرى ,لا تكشف عن وجهها الا بتمزيق الحجاب انها هناك خارج
الزمن لا ماض لها ولا مستقبل بل تعيش في الان الابدي,مازالت وافية لجوهرها مند
الاف السنين ,لا ترحب الا باهلها وتقف شامخة في وجه التغريب والتزييف ,وتدرك جيدا
معنى "وقد صار قلبي قابلا كل صورة" او كما يقال تعدد الطرق بتعدد
الانفس....وليس ببعيد كان احد اقطابها المعاصرينيحلم فوق
ارضها المباركة بالجمهورية الافلاطونية تماما كما كان يحلم اجدادنا بالجمهورية
الربانية ربما حققوها بالفعل.
