تعدد اصل سكان مستغانم
و نجد سكان مستغانم من جميع الولايات ومن العهود القديمة تواجد بمستغانم حضارة عتيقة من تحضر و بداوة وهذا لانه كان اجتماع البربر العرب الاتراك والاندلسين و العلج " المسيحين المعتنقين الاسلام"

سكان الجزائر
البربر هم السكان الاصلين لشمال افريقيا و الجزائر ، ولم يعرف أي شعب سكان شمال إفريقيا قبل الأمازيغ

أغلب سكان الجزائر من العرب الذين حرروا البربر من الاحتلال الروماني من بينهم عرب بنو هلال و بنوسليم ، شاركوا في الفتوحات والصراعات السياسية والعسكرية في الحوض المتوسط وكان لها أثر في تعريب شمال إفريقيا ودخول الجزائر مند القدم. في مستغانم يتمثلون في فرع عرب مجاهر التي تواجدت في سهول سيرات وحوض مينا

وقد كان لهم دور في نشر الإسلام والتعريب

لكثير من السكان منتشرة اليوم في الجزائرهم امازيغ و عرب فهم ممن اختلط فيهم الدم العربي والأمازيغي فقد ابتلعوا البربر بالمصاهرة أو المجاورة ، فأضحت الجزائر عربية الدم واللسان
