يا إلهي! مسافة 600 سنة ضوئية "فقط" تفصلنا عن كوكب اكتشفه علماء الفضاء حديثا وقالوا إنه يحتوي على الماء واعتقدوا أن حياة من نوع ما توجد على سطحه! اسم هذا الكوكب kepler 22-b، وقد التقط تلسكوب الفضاء kepler صورة لهذا الكوكب الذي يشبه الأرض ولكنه أكبر منه حجما (الضعف تقريبا)، ويتبع هذا الكوكب مجرة جارة لمجرتنا!
ما أضعف الإنسان، وما أوسع الكون!

تصور أنك تريد أن ترسل رسالة جوال إلى هذا الكوكب لتنطلق بالسرعة المطلقة وهي سرعة الضوء، ستصل رسالتك إلى الكوكب بعد 600 سنة ضوئية، لتقطع مسافة تزيد عن 5,676,480,000,000,000 كيلو متر! ثم يصلك الرد عليها بعد 600 سنة ضوئية أخرى.
كم من الأجيال ستفنى قبل أن تصل الرسالة إلى الكوكب! وكم من الأجيال ستفنى قبل يصل الرد إلى الأرض! أنا أتصور أن القيامة ستقوم قبل أن تصل رسائلنا إلى ذلك الكوكب.
