يؤكد الباحث في معهد "ايفريي" ديديه بيون أن "مشيخة قطر قررت شراء فرنسا بكل ما للكلمة من معنى معتمدة على احتياط العملة الذي تملكه ويقدر بسبعمائة مليار دولار هو رصيد القطريين في الخارج إضافة إلى موجودات البنوك القطرية، حيث أنه لا شك أن القطريين يعرفون فرنسا جيداً ( مؤسساتها، شخصياتها السياسية، شركاتها، نقاط قوتها ونقاط ضعفها) وهم يأتون بكثافة في العطل الصيفية إلى فرنسا".
و تنقل الصحف الفرنسية يومياً أخباراً عن قيام قطر برشوة الطبقة السياسية الفرنسية، الشركات، الضرائب، المدارس الكبرى، الرياضيين، ولا يخفى هنا أن قراراً صدر في بداية عهد الرئيس ساركوزي قضى بإعفاء قطر والمواطنين القطريين من الضرائب عند الشراء والاستثمار في أي مجال من مجالات الاقتصاد الفرنسي المسموح به.
هذا وكشفت مجموعة من رجال الأعمال الفرنسيين من الذي يترددون إلى إمارة قطر هذه الأيام وبعضهم يعد من الأصدقاء، منذ زمن طويل أن هناك "قلق دائم لدى أعضاء العائلة الحاكمة في المشيخة الصغيرة على استمرارية المشيخة ولذلك هم يقومون بكل ما يستطيعون لتشريع وجودهم الدولي عبر الإعلام والاقتصاد، وأخيراً عبر بوابة الرياضة التي وجد فيها آل ثاني طريقاً سهلاً ودعائياً لتشريع وجود هذه الدولة وكيانها وديمومتها. ومن أجل هذا الهدف تبحث قطر عن حلفاء باستمرار، وهي تقوم بدور المستشار الشريك والوسيط في كل شي ولأي كان، للولايات المتحدة، "إسرائيل"، المملكة العربية السعودية، فرنسا، تركيا.
ويقول رجل أعمال فرنسي يعمل في الدوحة لموقع الانتقاد اللبناني "إن القطريين يشترون باستمرار عقود تأمين على الحياة وهم بالنسبة لعددهم الضئيل أكثر شعب على وجه الأرض يفتح حسابات في شركات تأمين على الحياة في أكثر من مكان في وقت واحد، ويضيف المصرفي الفرنسي على ذمة مجلة "لوبوان الفرنسية" "إنهم يؤمنون أن كل شيء في هذا الكون قابل للشراء".
هذا الكلام يطبقه القطريون حرفياً في فرنسا على الأصعدة كافة، من السياسيين الكبار إلى الصفقات الاقتصادية وشراء العقارات الفخمة في باريس وفي المناطق الفرنسية الأخرى إلى الدخول في مجال الاستثمار الرياضي حيث اشترت قطر نادي "باريس سان جرمان" العريق وهذه الصفقة للحقيقة كانت النقطة التي فاض بها الكأس الفرنسي الشعبي على الأقل حالياً. حيث لا يمر يوم دون أن تجد انتقاداً في الإعلام آو في الأحاديث العامة في المقاهي، حول بيع هذا النادي لبلد أجنبي. وكانت قناة الجزيرة الرياضية قد اشترت جزءاً كبيراً من حقوق البث التلفزيوني لبطولة فرنسا لكرة القدم للأعوام 2012- 2015.
المخاوف دفعت القطريين كما يرى رجل الأعمال الفرنسي لامتلاك "سلاح قوي في السياسة وهي قناة الجزيرة التي تغطي أنحاء العالم بشبكة كبيرة جداً من المراسلين"، ويضيف رجل الاعمال "حسب ما أوردته بعض وثائق ويكيليكس فإن دور قطر ينبع في كثير من الأحيان من مصلحة الأمير الشخصية وأهوائه لا أكثر وقد نقلت صحيفة "الغارديان" البريطانية بعض هذه الوثائق بتاريخ 5 كانون الأول (2010)".
ويرى السياسيون الفرنسيون الذين يترددون دائماً إلى الدوحة أنه يمكن تعداد لائحة طويلة لا تحصى بالأسماء السياسية الفرنسية المعتادة على الإقامة في قطر ومنها رئيس الوزراء السابق دومينيك دوفيلبان، عمدة مدينة باريس الصهيوني برتران دي لانويه، وزير الخارجية السابق فيليب دوست بلازي، وزيرة العدل السابقة رشيدة داتي، الوزيرة السابقة فضيلة عمارة، وزير الداخلية الحالي كلود غيان، جان لويس دوبريه، جيرارد لاشير،هوبير فيدرين، فريديريك ميتران، هيرفيه موران، جان بيار شوفينمان، دومينيك بوديس، جاك لانغ. واللائحة تطول وتطول....
