بدانة الصغار يصنعها الكبار:

يشكل «وباء السمنة» إحدى المشكلات السائدة وما زال العديد من أولياء الأمور والمعلمين، وأطباء الأطفال، وأخصائيي التغذية، يواصلون حربهم ضد هذا الوباء لدى الأطفال. إن إدراك أهمية الأكل الصحي يمثل نصف المعركة فقط، حيث تحتاج المدارس وأولياء الأمور إلى أن يأخذوا بزمام المبادرة لإدخال نظام غذائي متوازن، وممارسة التمارين الرياضية بانتظام، ضمن أسلوب حياة الأطفال.

وفيما يلي بعض النصائح والإرشادات التي من شأنها ضمان أن طفلك يسير في الاتجاه الصحيح:

1- تخزين الأطعمة الصحية

سوف يأكل الأطفال لاسيما الصغار منهم غالبية ما يتوفر أمامهم في المنزل، لذا فإنه من الأهمية بمكان عمل توازن بين الأطعمة التي تقدمينها للوجبات وتلك التي توفريها للوجبات الخفيفة.

- اجعلي الفاكهة والخضراوات ضمن روتين الأكل اليومي، وقدميها من 5-4 مرات يومياً.

-اجعلي الأمر سهلاً على طفلك ليختار الوجبات الصحية الخفيفة من خلال الاحتفاظ بالفاكهة والخضراوات في متناول يديه وجاهزة للتناول. وتتضمن الوجبات الخفيفة الأخرى الجيدة، الزبادي، زبدة الفول السوداني والكرفس، أو رقائق الحبوب الكاملة والجبن.

- قدمي اللحم الخالي من الدهون والمصادر الأخرى الجيدة التي تحتوي على البروتين، مثل البيض، والبندق.

- اختاري الخبز الذي يحتوي على الحبوب الكاملة للألياف.

- الحد من مقدار الدهون التي يتم تناولها من خلال تجنب الأطعمة المقلية بشدة، واختاري طرقاً أكثر صحية للطهي، مثل الشوي على الفحم، والشوي داخل الفرن، والطهي على البخار.

- الحد من الوجبات السريعة والوجبات الخفيفة ذات المكونات الغذائية المنخفضة، مثل رقائق البطاطس، والحلوى. لكن لا تمنعي تماماً الوجبات الخفيفة المفضلة عن منزلك. وبدلاً من ذلك اجعليها من المأكولات التي تقدم من وقت لآخر حتى لا يشعر طفلك بالحرمان.

- الحد من المشروبات السكرية، مثل الصودا، والمشروبات بنكهات الفواكه. وقدمي الماء والحليب بدلاً منها. كما أن الأطفال يعززون مقدار الكالسيوم الذي يتناولونه، وهو عامل هام لنمو العظام الصحية، من خلال شرب الحليب أو اللبن قليل الدسم.

2- وجبة الإفطار

قال المؤلف أديلي ديفيس يوماً: «تعد وجبة الإفطار أشبه بملك، والغداء بأمير، والعشاء بشخص فقير». بالتأكيد أن هذه المقولة صحيحة لأن وجبة الإفطار تساعد على العمل كمنظم للشهية لبقية اليوم. فهي توفر جلوكوزاً إضافياً للعقل، حيث أظهرت دراسات عديدة أن الأطفال الذين يتناولون وجبة الإفطار لديهم قدرة أفضل على التركيز، ويمكنهم التحصيل بصورة أكبر.

3- التخطيط للوجبات

من الأمور الحيوية أن تجعلي الأطفال يشاركون في عملية شراء البقاليات لأن ذلك يعلمهم اختيار المأكولات الصحية، مثل الفاكهة، والخضراوات، خلال التسوق في متاجر السوبر ماركت. كما يتعين على أولياء الأمور تشجيع الأطفال على المشاركة في إعداد الطعام، وبهذه الطريقة يمكنهم التعرف إلى طرق الطهي الصحي وإعداد الطعام السليم.

4- تنويع الطعام

من المهم أن يدرك أولياء الأمور أنه من خلال الملاحظة المستمرة لنظام طفلهم الغذائي، وتنويع الطعام، أنهم بذلك يغرسون في أطفالهم بعض الإرشادات الغذائية السليمة. وعلى مدى أيام الأسبوع في المدرسة، قومي بالتنقل بين الأنواع المختلفة من الفاكهة والخضراوات، واللحم الخالي من الدهون، والسمك، والأطعمة الخفيفة.

5- تناول الوجبات في مواعيد منتظمة

من الضروري أن يتناول أفراد العائلة الوجبات سوياً في مواعيد منتظمة. لأن الأكل بسرعة لا يسمح بالوقت الكافي للهضم والإحساس بالشبع. لذا يُنصح الأطفال بعدم الاندفاع بسرعة في تناول وجباتهم.

كما يجب تجنب أنشطة أخرى خلال أوقات تناول الوجبات، مثل مشاهدة التلفاز، اللعب بالهواتف المحمولة، وألعاب الفيديو.

6- ابتكري بيئة منزلية نشطة

خصصي وقتاً للعائلة بأسرها للمشاركة في أنشطة جسمانية منتظمة يستمتع بها أفراد العائلة، مثل ركوب الدراجات، أو الجري، أو المشي. وبدلاً من الاعتماد على الخادمات أو المساعدة الخارجية، يُنصح بتحديد أعمال منزلية نشيطة لكل فرد من أفراد العائلة، مثل التنظيف باستخدام المكنسة الكهربائية، أو غسيل السيارة، أو تنظيف غرفهم. قومي بتبديل جدول الأعمال المنزلية لأطفالك لتجنب الملل والروتين.
