اقوال في التواضع
وهذا مما قاله الصالحون في التواضع
قال عبد الله بن مسعود رضي اللــه عنه:
"إن من التواضع الرضا بالدون من شرف المجلس، وأن تُسَلِّم على من لقيت

وقال ابن عباس:
من التواضع أن يشرب الرجل من سؤر أخيه

قال لقمان :
(لكل شيء مطية ومطية العلم التواضع)

وقال لابنه :
يا بني تواضع للحق تكن أعقل الناس

قال عبد الله بن المبارك:
"رأسُ التواضعِ أن تضَع نفسَك عند من هو دونك في نعمةِ الله حتى تعلِمَه أن ليس لك بدنياك عليه فضل

سأل الحسن:
أتدرون ما التواضع؟ قالوا: ما هو؟ قال: "التواضع أن تخرج من منزلك ولا تلقى مسلماً إلا رأيت له عليك فضلاً".

مالك بن دينار:
(احبس ثلاثا بثلاث حتى تكون من المؤمنين الكبر بالتواضع والحرص بالقناعة والحسد بالنصيحة).

قال الشافعي رحمه الله:
"أرفعُ الناس قدرًا من لا يرى قدرَه، وأكبر النّاس فضلاً من لا يرى فضلَه"وقال ايضا:
شربنا ماء زمزم للعلم ,فتعلمناه ولو كنا شربناه للتقوى لكان خيرا"لنا
ويقول :لا ترفع سعرك فيردك الله إلى قيمتك .ألم ترى أن من طأطأ رأسه للسقف أظله وأكنه , وأن من تمادى برأسه شجه السقف

وسُئِلَ الفضيل بن عياض رحمه الله عن التواضع فقال:
"أن تخضع للحق وتنقاد له، ولو سمعته من صبي قبلته، ولو سمعته من أجهل الناس قبلته

قال سفيان بن عيينة:
من كانت معصيته في شهوة فارج له التوبة فإن آدم عليه السلام عصى مشتهياً فاستغفر فغفر له، فإذا كانت معصيته من كبر فاخش عليه اللعنة. فإن إبليس عصى مستكبراً فلعن

وقال أبو علي الجوزجاتي:
"النفس معجونة بالكبر والحرص والحسد، فمن أراد الله تعالى هلاكه منع منه التواضع والنصيحة والقناعة".

قيل لعبد الملك بن مروان:
أي الرجال أفضل؟ قال: من تواضع عن قدرة، وزهد عن رغبة، وترك النصرة عن قوة
ويُقال:
"ثمرة القناعة الراحة، وثمرة التواضع المحبة".

وقال بعض الحكماء :
إذا سئل الشريف تواضع , وإذا سئل الوضيع تكبر

وقال بزرجمهر :
وجدنا التواضع مع الجهل والبخل , أحمد من الكبر مع الأدب والسخاء .

وقال ابن السماك للرشيد :
تواضعك في شرفك أفضل من شرفك

وقيل :
التواضع سلم الشرف

وقال مجاهد :
إن الله تعالى لما أغرق قوم نوح شمخت الجبال , وتواضع الجودي فرفعه فوق الجبال وجعل قرار السفينة عليه فسبحان من تواضع كل شيء لعزة جبروت عظمته , وخضع لجلال عظيم حكمته .

قيل لأحد العلماء : كيف عرفت الدنيا ؟
قال : دلني العلم على الزهد في الدنيا

و كن أرضا لينبت فيك ورد **** فإن الورد منبته التراب

الكبر ذل والتواضع رفعة **** والمزح والضحك الكثير سقوط
والحرص فقر والقناعة عزة **** واليأس من صنع الإله قنوط

تواضع إذا ما نلت في الناس رفعة **** فإن رفيع القوم منه يتواضع

إذا شئت أن تزداد قدرا ورفعة **** فلن وتواضع واترك الكبر والعجبا

تواضع إن رغبت إلى السمو *** وعدلاً في الصديق وفي العدو

ولا تمشي في الأرض إلا تواضعا *** فكم تحتها قوم هم منك أرفع

ليس التطاول رافعا من جاهل *** و كذا التواضع لا يضرّ بعاقل

ولا تمش فوق الأرض إلا تواضعا *** فكم تحتها قــوم هــم منك أرفعٌ
فإن كنت في عز وحزر ومنعة *** فكم مات من قوم هم منك أمنعٌ
