ولاية الجلفة إحدى أهم ولايات الجمهورية الجزائرية،يزيد تعداد السكان للولاية عن 1275000 نسمة(توقعات 2007) و تحتل بذلك المرتبة الرابعة من حيث عدد سكان الولايات بعد كل من العاصمة، وهران وسطيف.

التنظيم الإداري

نشأت رسميا اثر التقسيم الإداري في سنة 1974 و تضم 12 دائرة و 36 بلدية.

دوائر ولاية الجلفة الـ 12 هي : الجلفة - حاسي بحبح - عين وسارة - مسعد - البيرين - دار الشيوخ - حد الصحاري - الادريسية - الشارف -عين الابل - فيض البطمة - سيدي لعجال.

تزخر مدينة الجلفة مناظر طبيعية خلابة ويعرف اهلهاالسخاء حتى وفيها من العلماء الذين كرسوا حياتهم في خدمت المجتمع المحيط بهم ومن اشهرهم الدلامجية .. وفى الجلفة العاصمة السهبية ...تجد مكارم الاصيلة ومحافظة على عادتها وتقاليدها ... تقع الجلفة في الوسط الجزائري منطقة ذات مناخ قاري، باردة في الشتاء معتدلة في الربيع و في الصيف.عاصمة الولاية هي مدينة الجلفة الواقعة في وسط الولاية وتضم حاليا حوالي 200الف ساكن بها ما يقارب من 40 الف وحدة سكنية(عمران) حسب إحصائيات البلدية.
