فذلكة في تاريخ ومفهوم الأدب العربي

الأدب كلمة لعب بها الزمان، وحورها من معنى إلى معنى على اختلاف العصور وكر الأيام. فلقد نشأت هذه الكلمة في الجاهلية في وقت غير معلوم، ووردت في كلام الجاهليين مرادا بها تهذيب النفوس وتقويم الأخلاق، وتحلية الطبائع بحميد الخلال، وجميل الصفات.أتت في حديث عتبة بن ربيعة مع ابنته هند أم معاوية حين وصف لها خطيبها أبا سفيان ابن حرب فقال:«يؤدب أهله ولا يؤدبونه ». وكان مما ردت به على أبيها بعد رضاها به بعلالها قولها:« ويأخذه بأدب البعل مع لزوم قبتي، وقلة تلفتي».

ولما جاء الإسلام حفظ للكلمة مدلولها الأخلاقي، وعمم استعمالها، فقد اثر عنه عليه الصلاة والسلام أنه قال:«أدبني ربي فأحسن تأدبي» وكثر ترددها على الألسنة، وتتابع ذكرها في أحاديث الناس وخطاباتهم، والكل يريد منها تحلية النفس بجميل السجايا وحميد الشيم، وتربيتها على الفضائل، والابتعاد بها عن منكر الأخلاق.
وبقي مدلول كلمة الأدب كذلك حتى أوائل الدولة العباسية حين اختلط المسلمون بالعجم، ونقلت علوم وآثار الأمم المختلفة إلى اللغة العربية، وكثر النقل والترجمة والتدوين والتأليف، وحينئذ اخذ يتحول من هذا المعنى الأخلاقي إلى معنى أوسع واعم وابعد مدى، إذ أصبح الأدب يطلق على العلوم العربية من مأثور الشعر والنثر، والحكمة والمثل والنحو والعروض والبلاغة، بل غدا معنى الأدب جامعا للأخلاق والفنون والتربية والصناعات ونحو ذلك، فأطلقوه على لعب الشطرنج، وضرب العود، وعلى الطب والهندسة والفروسية وعلى مجموع علوم العرب وعلى مقتطفات الحديث والسمر، وما يتداوله الناس في المجالس.
وتعاريف العلماء تؤيد ذلك، يقول أبو زيد: الأدب كل رياضة محمودة، يتخرج بها الإنسان في فضيلة من الفضائل. وهذه الرياضة كما تكون بالفعل وحسن النظر والمحاكاة، تكون بمزاولة الأقوال التي تضمنها أي لغة.
ويقول الجرجاني: الأدب عبارة عن معرفة ما يحدث به جميع أنواع الخطأ.
ويقول صاحب كشف الظنون: الأدب علم يحترز به عن الخلل في كلام العرب لفظا وكتابة.
وأخيرا يقول ابن خلدون في تعريف الأدب: هو حفظ أشعار العرب وأخبارها والأخذ من كل علم بطرف.
هذا المعنى المتسع الأطراف، البعيد النواحي لكلمة الأدب، استمر كذلك حتى القرن التاسع عشر فاخذ ينكمش ويتضاءل ويأخذ حيزا محدودا. فأصبح يطلق على المأثور من الشعر والنثر فقط، أو على الأسلوب الصحيح الجميل الذي يلذ القارئ، ويترجم عن عواطف النفوس، ويصور حقائق الوجود، ويجلي ما في الكون من جمال وسحر، وأضحى لا يقال إلا على ما تنحسر عنه قريحة الشاعر والكاتب في القصيدة ينظمها، والكلمة يرسلها، فتقع على مواقع الحس من النفس، فتثيرها حماسة ونجدة، وتذيبها حنانا ورقة، وتهزها أريحية وكرما.
وكلمة أديب قد لازمت كلمة أدب وتنقلت معها في أدوارها السالفة فاستعملت في الجاهلية وصدر الإسلام بمعنى مهذب النفس الكريم الخلق والطبع، وهذا سالم بن وابصة وهو إسلامي تابعي يقول:
إذا شئت أن تدعى كريما مكرما أديبا ظريفا عاقلا ماجدا حرا
إذا ما أتت من صاحب لك زلة فكن أنت محتالا لزلته عذرا
ولما كانت الدولة العباسية أحضر الخلفاء لأبنائهم من يقوم بتربيتهم وتعليمهم وتهذيبهم وتثقيفهم بالعلوم المختلفة، وسموهم المؤدبين لمعرفتهم بالأخبار والأنساب والشعر وتأويل القرآن، وبصرهم بالحديث والسنة، ونحو ذلك من العلوم والفنون التي أجادها أبناء الخلفاء وحذقوها وضربوا فيها بسهم وافر، وبذلك صارت تطلق كلمة أديب على الشاعر والكاتب، والمربي والفقيه والنحوي والمحدث، وكل من أجاد فنا من فنون العربية، وفي العصر الحاضر لا تطلق إلا على من برع في الشعر والنثر وغذى العقول بغزارة معانيه، ورقق الشعور وألان الطباع بعذوبة كلامه وحلاوة قوله، وسحر الأفئدة بحسن بيانه، وبديع خياله وافتتانه.
والأديب كما يقول بعض الأدباء نقلا لتعريف أجنبي: (هو الكاتب الذي يغني العقل الإنساني، ويزيد ثروته، ويعينه على التقدم، وهو الذي يستكشف الحقائق الأدبية ويزيل ما حولها من الشك والغموض وينفذ إلى أعماق قلب الإنسان فيستخرج منه العواطف الخالدة، في حين يظن الناس أن ليس هناك ما يكشف في هذه المنطقة، وهو الذي يبرز أفكاره وحقائقه في صور دقيقة صحيحة جميلة معقولة، وهو الذي يخاطب الناس بأسلوب، هو أسلوبه الخاص ولكنه أسلوب جميع القراء، أسلوب قديم وحديث معا صالح لكل زمان ومكان).
