صالح يرتب للمغادرة إلى عُمان

قال عدد من المسؤولين اليمنيين إن الرئيس علي عبد الله صالح سيغادر إلى سلطنة عُمان في طريقه إلى الولايات المتحدة الأميركية من أجل استكمال العلاج،.
واتفق المسؤولون على مغادرة صالح باتجاه عُمان، غير أنهم اختلفوا فيما إذا كان سيعود لليمن أو سيختار عُمان كمنفى له، بعد استكمال رحلته لعلاج الحروق التي أصيب بها في محاولة اغتيال استهدفته فيجوان الماضي.
فقد أكد القيادي بحزب المؤتمر الشعبي العام الحاكم محمد الشايف أن صالح سيغادرالأيام القليلة القادمة إلى عُمان ومنها إلى الولايات المتحدة لاستكمال العلاج، على أن يعود بعد ذلك لقيادة الحزب. وكان الرئيس قد تحدث في وقت سابق بأنه سيعمل -من موقعه كقائد للحزب- في المعارضة بعد تخليه عن السلطة.
في المقابل قال مسؤول بمكتب رئيس الوزراء إن الرئيس سيستقر في عُمان عقب استكمال علاجه. وأكد أن أحمد (نجل الرئيس) موجود بالسلطنة من أجل تجهيز مكان لإقامة والده. غير أنه لم يشر إن كان أحمد، الذي يقود قوات الحرس الجمهوري، سيبقى بدوره بعُمان أو سيعود إلى صنعاء.
وكان مسؤولون أميركيون قد كشفوا أن إدارة الرئيس باراك أوباما تبذل جهودا مكثفة حاليا مع صالح لإيجاد مكان يلجأ إليه حتى يستطيع اليمن -الذي أنهكته الاضطرابات- التقدم نحو الانتقال السلمي إلى الديمقراطية.
ونقلت وكالة أسوشيتد برس عن مسؤولين أميركيين قولهم إن واشنطن ترفض منح حق اللجوء السياسي لصالح أو الظهور بأنها تعامله معاملة تفضيلية، وذلك بسبب دوره في قمع الحركة الاحتجاجية التي طالبت بالإطاحة به، وأكدوا أن كلا من المملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة رفضتا استقبال صالح.
