كلمة مهمّة للدكتور عماد الدين خليل


يقول الدكتور عماد الدين خليل حفظه الله في مقدّمة كتابه في التاريخ الإسلام فصول في المنهج والتحليل :

[ ولكم نحن بحاجة إلى مزيد من الأبحاث التي تسعى لبلورة منهج متميّز في كتابة تاريخنا هذا نظرية وتطبيقا .. وما من شك في أن الصيغ القديمة لعرض تاريخنا الإسلامي كما لو كان ميدان عمليات عسكرية ومناورات سياسية وتبدلات دورية في الأسر والحكام .. قد مضى أوانها .. كما أنه قد مضى زمن الدفاع المتشنج إزاء كلّ ما يطرحه الخصوم حول هذه النقطة أو تلك في مجرى هذا التاريخ .
إنّ التوجه الأكثر أهمية وجدوى يجب أن يتجاوز هذا وذاك صوب أبحاث في تكوين الحضارة الإسلامية ونظمها وصيرورتها ويجب - كذلك - أن يقدّم أعمالا بنائية في هذا الجانب أو ذاك من التاريخ الإسلامي تقدم بذلتها القناعات التي تتهافت عندها مقولات الخصوم .
إنّ علينا أن لا نسلّم بكلّ ما طرح في هذا التاريخ من معطيات إن على مستوى المصادر القديمة أو في نطاق الدراسات الحديثة والمعاصرة .. ومن خلال هذا الشك البناء يمكن أن نحقق لتاريخنا قدرا من الخدمة التي ينتظر منها المزيد ... ] .

وقال أيضا كما في ص (8) : [والبحث الإسلامي - اليوم - بحاجة إلى البناة الذين يملكون الحسّ النقدي بطبيعة الحال أكثر منه إلى النقاد .. إنّ قضايا كثيرة في تاريخنا وفكرنا ينتظر قرننا العشرون هذا من يكشف النقاب عنها أو يعيد عرضها بالأسلوب الذي يمكنه من إيصال الصوت إلى سمع هذا القرن وفؤاده .
أما ملاحقة معطيات الآخرين كشفا عن خطأ فيها ودفاعا عن قيمة في تاريخنا وفكرنا فيبدو أمرا ثانويا .. ولن يحتل الخطّ الأماميّ إلاّ بعد أن يتم إنجاز القدر الأكبر من مساحة البناء .
ومع ذلك فإن العملية النقدية ما دامت تتضمّن قدرا من الإنجاز البنائي في جانب ما من جوانب الفكر أو التاريخ .. تغدو جديرة بالممارسة هي الأخرى شرط أن لا تكون هدفا بحد ذاتها ]
