مساعى لتبرئة بابا الفاتيكان من تهة التحرش الجنسى بالأطفال

سعى أحد أبرز الكرادلة في الفاتيكان إلى تبرئة البابا بندكتس السادس عشر، من تهمة "التحرش الجنسي" بأطفال، وهي الاتهامات التي وجهتها جمعيات حقوقية إلى البابا بشكل خاص، وللكنيسة الكاثوليكية بشكل عام.

وخلال افتتاحه للمؤتمر الصحفي لحماية الأطفال من التحرش، الاثنين، أكد الكاردينال ويليام ليفادا، رئيس "مجمع عقيدة الإيمان، أنه "لابد للعالم من تقديم شكره وامتنانه للأب بندكتس، على جهوده الكبيرة في مجال حماية الأطفال، بدلاً من توجيه الإعلام في العديد من البلدان اتهامات باطله لا أساس لها من الصحة، لمؤسسة دينية تتنافى هذه الاتهامات مع كل مبادئها."

جاءت هذه التصريحات على خلفية ازدياد الضغوط على الكنيسة من قبل العديد من الأطراف، حيث قامت جمعية أمريكية تمثل ضحايا التحرش الجنسي على أيدي كهنة، برفع دعوى ضد البابا ومسئولين آخرين في الكنيسة الكاثوليكية، أمام المحكمة الجنائية الدولية بتهمة ارتكاب جرائم ضد الإنسانية.

واتهم رافعو الدعوى مسئولين في الفاتيكان بالسماح والتستر بشكل منهجي عن جرائم جنسية واغتصاب لأطفال على مستوى الفاتيكان بشكل خاص، وعلى مستوى العاملين باسم الفاتيكان في العالم أجمع.

يذكر أنه وعلى خلفية هذه الأحداث، استدعى الفاتيكان مبعوثه إلى جمهورية أيرلندا رسمياً، بعد صدور تقرير يدين أسلوب تعامل الكنيسة الكاثوليكية مع قضية التحرش الجنسي بالأطفال على يد قساوسة، أواسط العام المنصرم.

وذكر راديو الفاتيكان أن القاصد الرسولي الكاردينال جيوزبي لينانزا قد استدعي إلى روما، لبحث تداعيات ذلك التقرير، الذي كان سبباً في الانتقادات القاسية التي وجهها رئيس الوزراء الأيرلندي، إندا كيني، لمؤسسة الفاتيكان أمام البرلمان الأيرلندي.
