قوة خاصة من الجيش الأمريكي في الأردن بحجة فقدان السيطرة على الأسلحة الكيميائية في سوريا

أفادت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز اليوم الأربعاء عن وصول قوة خاصة من الجيش الأمريكي للأردن بحجة منع توسع رقعة النزاع السوري الدموي إلى الحدود التركية.

ويقود القوة البالغ عددها 150 عنصراً وتضم مخططين وإختصاصيين، ضابط أمريكي كبير للتحضير لسيناريوهات
تشمل فقدان السيطرة على الأسلحة الكيميائية في سوريا، ولمساعدة المملكة في مواجهة تدفق اللاجئين السوريين .

وتعمل القوة في مركز شمال عمان على بعد 55 كلم من الحدود ما يجعلها أقرب نقطة تواجد عسكري أمريكي لمنطقة النزاع.

وقالت الصحيفة إن المسؤولين الأمريكيين والأردنيين بحثوا إقامة منطقة إنسانية عازلة على الجانب السوري من الحدود تتولى القوات الأردنية مراقبتها بدعم أمريكي لكنهم عدلوا عن هذه الفكرة حالياً.

وتمضي القوة الأمريكية أكثر وقتها في مساعدة الأردن في تنسيق المساعدات الغذائية والمياه وخدمات أخرى أساسية للاجئين الواصلين إلى أراضيه.

ويقطن الكثير من اللاجئين في مساكن مؤقتة في مدينة الرمثا شمالا قرب الحدود مع سوريا أو لدى أقارب أو أصدقاء لهم في المملكة، بالإضافة إلى نحو 34 ألف لاجئ في مخيم الزعتري، الذي تم افتتاحه في نهاية جويلية الماضي.
