حل الخريف و هدا الحر لم يزل...كأنما الصيف مشدود على جبل

خفف دنوبك أن الحر قاتلنا...واستغفر الله ليلا أن تمادى خلي

واستحزنت من هموم الدهر فاضلة...يا ليتها نزلت بالظالمين تلي

واستنفد العيش أموال العباد فهم...مابين شاك و بين العقل و الخبل

و نام عن أمرنا ولاة محفلنا...لما تناهوا ألى الكرسي بالختل

وزان أفواههم وعد كبرق فلا...لقد شبعنا من الأقوال و المطل

حال البلاد خزت والناس كارهة...والقلب ممتلئ و القوم في العسل

وساد أولنا من كان أخرنا...فالفسل في صعد و الجود في نزل

يا ليتني برص في جلد زاملة...ولا أرى دولة الأوغاد و السفل

جاشت حوالب صدري من مكامنها...لما رأيت رؤوس الجهل و الخطل

هدا قريضي ولما يبلغن أسفا...ما أشتهيه فأنى يوسف و علي

نفث الصدور و شعر مارد حرد...مثل السيول و سح الوابل الهطل

لا يستقيم بلاد نام آهلها...عن الحقوق و باعوا الجد بالهزل

سل الذي وهب الأبدان مهجتـها

وخالق الخلق بالقلوب والمقل

وقل الهي معين الدمع منفجر

وادعوه أن يقلب الأحوال بالحُلَلِ

ولا تسل حاكمـا تغدوا فرائسه

هلكى ،ويخشى زوال الخير والزّلل

حال البلاد إلى رب يسيـّرهـا

فلا تسل سائلا او يوسفا وعلي

ولا تكن كالذي في جلد زاملة

وكن دواءا لـذا الزمان من علل

وأصلح النفس لا تـبغي كبغيتهـا

فالنفس في شغل والخير في شغل

فأنت راع والناس ترعى أنفسهـا

وهكذا تنتهي الأرجاس بالمُثُلِ

فليت شعري جموع الناس تسمعه

يخاطب العقلَ والوجدانُ يفتحُ لي
